We went to the very nice park in Sunnyvale called Las Palmas Park. We enjoyed a picnic lunch. There is lots to do here including a museum, dog park, playground, tennis courts, places to play, and places to walk. We had a good time.

9:20am, just finished watching Andrew Cuomo's daily TV address. Wife and I get our morning's exercise walking 40 minutes through the beautiful tree lined neighborhoods of south central Sunnyvale, right in the center of silicon valley.

We walk one block from our house in a residential neighborhood, through a pedestrian corridor to reach Las Palmas park, 18+ acres the second largest park in the city.

The houses on both sides of the pedestrian corridor were built in 1995 replacing the cherry orchards. Houses on other sides of the park were built in 1966, when chip and mainframe computer industries were developing.

Huge open area of freshly cut grassy fields, intersected by pedestrian sidewalks, surrounded on three sides by residential homes, and on the 4th side by Sunnyvale Tennis Center's 16 lighted pay to play tennis courts.

Signs at the entrances to the park: "Physical distancing required. Maintain a distance of 6 feet apart. Do not congregate in groups. Parks for passive use only. No team sports or pickup games. Stay home if you don't feel well".

The kids playground is closed, the dog park is closed, the baseball field closed, and the tennis courts are closed, all since the March 17 announcement by Santa Clara county to shelter in place.

Some people sitting at the picnic tables under the trees, while others walk their dogs. No picnicking in groups. Got to watch your step on the grass when going around people, to maintain the 6 feet social distance , as some dog owners don't pick up after their pets.

Lots of people like myself running or jogging on the mile in circumference streets and concrete pathways surrounding the park.

Public bathrooms closed, forcing the homeless to go elsewhere. No RVs nor campers allowed to park overnight in the parking lots, nor on the streets surrounding the park.

We are so close to the park that on garbage collection day, people dump their trash from picnics in the park into our bins, when the park bins are overflowing. They put their plastics in my recycling bins, not knowing that only plastic bottles are recyclable, not plastic packaging. Guess who has to tip the bin over and dig down to pick out the plastic packaging? And with some cop car coming around the corner thinking I'm stealing.

Waiting until today to do a review of the place. City Park & Recreation open for lawn mowing, but not barbers. Only recently has the grass been cut. Apparently cutting the lawns more essential than cutting my hair.

We went for a nice picnic lunch at Las Palmas Park in Sunnyvale. Its a nice park. Albeiti due to the virus, the playground area was closed. People were out there walking their dogs, riding their bikes, walking, and having fun. There is a nice lawn area, picnic area, and in normal times a nice playground area for the children.

Did anybody mention about parrots yet? omg! you find lots of them here making makes you feel like some kind of adventure theme park in summer evenings. park location is not easily accessible from main road but it has nice dog park and sports tennis center. looks like neighborhood park away from traffic.

Lovely park if you live near by or if staying in a hotel walking distance, not necessary to go out of your way for.

There is a water feature, the water is colored and there are signs that read it is not for wading. Many shaded spots. A nice place for a stroll, have a picnic, take the dog or the kiddos to play.

A tranquil spot in the morning.

We walk to this park often because it's only about 1/2 mile from our home. Our dog has at least 3 buddies he loves to play with in the dog park. We've had walks, father's day picnics, excursions with our grandsons, special "walk off the turkey dinner" walks where the colors of the trees as wonderful. We've hosted a high school reunion there as well & the accommodations (seating/grill) suited our large group. There's a baseball field with bleachers along with 2 playgrounds & walking paths throughout.

Las Palmas has lots of lovely green fields, two playgrounds (one for young children), a dog park (divided for small dogs and large dogs), and a nice park building that can be rented. There are also picnic tables and BBQ grills that can be rented. During some times of the year, the famous flock of wild parrots will stop by the palm trees here!

It is a nice park with lots of options for kids, adults and dogs. Unfortunately, the artificial lake was dry. I can imagine that it is really beautiful when we have water there.

It's not not relevant for tourism, but it is for the neighborhood.
