Actually, was a trip itself from San Antonio to the river, it's great trip it's not very long doesn't take much time and it's very quiet. It's a good place to visit and then go through Bandera the city and there's a lot of shops there great shops actually.

Horseback riding is a must!! The only disappointment I had with the experience was the Medina was dry. They are in a terrible drought this summer. The town was enjoyed with all its history and stores and shops. Everyone we met was super friendly and made you feel right at home there!

The the water is very clear with lots of waterfowl. I enjoyed the stroll. Honestly, one of the best things about Bandera.

Warning signs about health risks posted at the entrance. Pretty empty. Sat at a table by the water. No one swimming today.

We found this city park by accident. It is beautiful and peaceful. We strolled and enjoyed the quiet river and restful atmosphere.

Nice river entry. Cool water that felt clean, and was flowing a bit. Tree swings. Not overcrowded. No entry fee.

Nice park. Moderate entrance fee. Easy and convenient parking. The river is slow moving and deep enough to support launching yourself from the bank to mid river with touching the bottom. Dogs are welcome and ours (labs) had a blast...both are still sleeping. No showers or toilets. I did notice a port a john. Decent crowd. Some empty beer cans, both overall a family friendly place.

We enjoyed the Medina River at Pipe Creek where we rented an Airbnb. The level was a bit low, but the water was clear. Rocks and the bottom were slippery with algae. You could see fish and the bottom, which was important for swimming and jumping from rocks. Pipe Creek was an excellent location for us because there were no crowds. Access is limited. The geology was fascinating.

Beautiful water, to cool off the heat of the summer, great food along the way, riverside cottages and resorts to stay and just relax for some great R&R

You can stroll along the river or swim in it and the water is so clear you can see the roots of the trees and fish swimming up and down. There are also some wood carvings in the trees welcoming you to the river.
A lovely place to relax and unwind.

I am not aware of a campground at Pipe Creek. HOA restricts access.
Where does it start and end?

1114 Main St, Bandera, TX 78003
they bring you to the river and then they pick you up after you call them that you arrived at the bridge( can not miss it) approximately 2.5 or 3 hour kayaking it's so beautiful. Our most fantastic kayak tour ever.
Cost 50 $ per person buy for 5 $ a pouch for your phone. Take 1 small bottle drinking water in your side pocket if possible dont take back pack it will be wet.

Is there anywhere we can go with our own tubes? Can a shuttle take us and we use our own tubes?
There is a place called river oaks inn.you will see a bridge that leads to the river. They don't check if u r a guest,so u can take lawn chairs and tubes.we r swimming there in a few weeks.hope this answers your question.😃

How is the water right now? Thinking about coming this weekend to fish in my kayak.
Any spots to camp along river?
Wanting to do a hammock set up along a part of the river and wanted to know if it’s allowed or if some of the land is private etc. Never been to Medina and from the looks of the pictures, it looks wonderful.

Best answers for current conditions of river, camp sites, etc. are likely to be available at the Banders, TX Chamber of Commerce.
Is the river floatable now?

It depends on where you are at as some places are low, but in Bandera, they are floating and swimming in it.
