This museum is part zoo, part scientific exploration, part artist exhibit as well as immersion . . . our family was aged 23-80 and we all loved it! We saw young children enjoying themselves as well. They have exhibits you can touch and interact with, a light room that creates movement murals, beautiful and moving art pieces on display, places to create your own art and my favorite—the animals! Say hello to pretty girl Georgia the parrot . . . and they even have lemurs!

A fun few hours for kids. My 7 and 10 year old had about 2 hours of fun touching and exploring. The planetarium seemed cool, but it was 90% a video on dinosaurs, and 10% a man talking to us about some stars and planets. It was a cool movie watching experience (on the dome in the ceiling), but not the best planetarium.

My daughter and I stopped here on a Thursday afternoon and there were only a few other families there. My daughter got to explore pretty much everything she wanted without having to wait. There was quite a bit to explore here. However several of the exhibits were broken in the downstairs area. My daughter did have a lot of fun there. We even got to see a short animal show.

Took my grandkids here during a break and had a blast with all the different hands-on exhibits. Very educational but not boring. They loved it. Also had a trail outside to walk along.

The Museum of Arts and Sciences in Macon, Georgia, is a community facility that includes four galleries with frequently changing exhibitions on fine arts, science topics and the humanities. Located at 4182 Forsyth Road, it was established in 1956 and features an art gallery, planetarium, mini-zoo, nature trail, garden, store, auditorium, classrooms, bat cave and a Discovery House that allows children to create their own art. The Discovery House, a three-story wing that was added in 2001, is the largest exhibit in the museum. Be sure to visit the bottom floor, which focuses on science with activities such as fossil digging and experiments in weather and magnetism. The most popular attractions are Ziggy, a 40-million-year-old whale fossil, and a stuffed adult polar bear. Two must-see exhibits in the art gallery are the ceramics of Pablo Picasso and the art of Tiffany. The planetarium is an observatory built in 1965 that features various topics in astronomy and a virtual skyline of over 4,000 stars. The mini-zoo, designed to stimulate a jungle environment, houses numerous kinds of animals, including monkeys, birds, snakes and an alligator. There also are three other exhibitions of note--Marian Zielinski's Providence Canyon Art Quilts, Hong Kong-born Kaye Freeman's Cosmic Origami and a collection of horns, hides and shoulder mounts from some of the popular antelope species that migrate around the African plains each year. The museum is open from 10 to 5 Tuesday through Saturday.

Had a few nice things to see but was in and out in less than 45 minutes. Was disappointed in that WiFi was not available to individuals but was opened and available for large groups. The reason escapes me in that it was “because we have been hacked numerous times”.

We stayed overnight in Macon on our way to Florida. Looking for things to do, we saw a flyer for the museum. It's a bit small, but has a lot of hands on things for children and a variety of exhibits. We specifically went because of the planetarium. It was a good show and certainly a value at less than $20 for two of us. Senior rates kick in a age 62.

The prices are reasonable. It is not a place for the whole day more like a few hours. It has a planetarium, and a small "zoo". They offer classes and have special events monthly.
