Pat did an awesome job bringing to life the history of Kilkenny - from the Norman conquest to the rule of the merchant class. And of course the political power of the Catholic Church was always a factor. An authentic presentation that was interesting and informative.

Pat was an excellent tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and very entertaining and we thoroughly enjoyed this tour. It was the best experience we had. I would totally recommend this to all.

Pat Moylan brings the history of Kilkenny to life with his exuberance, passion, knowledge and also ability to interact with those in his tour.
In this modern age if AI, audio visual equipment, etc...there aren't many tour guides who could keep 4 kids ( and an adult) so completely engaged in a walking tour...but Pat not only did this- but he instilled a passion in my children to learn more about the history of kilkenny.
As someone who grew up in Kilkenny, i have often done walking tours of kilkenny City...but I had never heard all the extra, super interesting addendums to many of the stories...which seemed to have been redacted from more conservative/ conventional tours of Kilkenny.
Filling all the gaps in these stories only goes to show me how little human nature has changed... and how unfortunately so many man made institutions have used power, money, bribery and blackmail as the modus operandi...possibly since the inception of these institutions.
Pat is a gifted storyteller.

I took the tour and learned so much, not only about the history of Kilkenny but also the passion , knowledge and story telling of Pat which was evident throughout, he recreated a vivid picture of various people, at times it seemed like a story from game of thrones or the sopranos as we walked from the Norman invasion through the 10 families and onto the Smithwicks
Pat brought it all together with a wicked sense of humour , a most entertaining and enjoyable tour ,
I would recommend it to everyone

Pat’s tours ranks up there as one of the best walking tours I have been on. Don’t miss it. If you don’t do the tour and just walk down the streets, you will not appreciate what makes the city so amazing. He is a total history geek (in a good way) and he makes the history come to life. He is an actor by trade and it comes out when he tells the stories of Kilkenny’s past.

Pat's knowledge of Kilkenny and the history of the cityis phenomenal. We had a really enjoyable tour. We could have listened to Pat for hours.

Tour was great. Pat was very knowledgeable and made you feel like you were living history with his stories - he is a great story teller. Highly recommend. Gave us a great overview of the town and it’s history.
