Gem of a museum, hard to believe how much history is crammed into this tiny tiny building. Our guide was amazing, with encyclopedic knowledge of the area and Irish history in general.
Don't miss it!

Tullow Museum is small but filled to the door with really interesting items, including Fr Murphy's (of Boolavogue fame) vestments.
The lady who works there has so much local knowledge and information and is well worth a conversation with.

This charming museum is a must-see in Tullow, filled to the brim with local artefacts and the local volunteers have a wealth of knowledge to go with it.
I had been in touch with John prior to my arrival in Tullow as my trip would be over the New Year period I was unsure if the museum would still be open. John was quick to respond and extremely helpful in arranging my visit to the museum and also digging out the families donations to the museum so they would be on display when I arrived.
John and Bill were very friendly and welcoming upon arrival. Both gave very informative information on the local village and were happy to take the time to explain certain things and their relation to the local historic moments in the village. They even helped me piece together some of my families history in the village and their memories of my Great Grandparents and their children growing up.
It was a pleasant visit and I walked away with a depth of knowledge on Tullow and plenty of pictures to show the family on my return.

Staff member chatty and informative. Happy to talk of the history of the area and local notables. Museum very small, but filled with curios, many donated by locals/family members of people mentioned in museum. If you are in the area, researching family history/looking for information is worth a visit.

I was especially interested to visit this little museum of local Tullow history because my late grandfather was also a historian for his home town in Germany and collected many bits and bops as well as newspaper clippings, books etc. Tullow Museum had been featured in a documentary on German TV at some point. That's how I found out about its existence. So when my holiday trip took me to the East and Southeast of Ireland this year, I was not let down by what I found in Tullow. Despite the items being seemingly just put wherever they would fit into the small space that the building offers, I applaud the people running the place for preserving all those items that would otherwise have been lost in time. It was an interesting experience that deserves praise and a sound recommendation. Go see it!

This is a free Museum and they really should have a nominal charge. It holds a great collection of 'olde worlde' memorabilia,1916 memorabilia and lots more to see. It is all set out for very easy viewing, very clean and very user friendly. Highly recommended.

The tullow museum is supposed to be open in the afternoon for a couple of hours but we tried on 2 different days during the week to go but it wasn’t open.

This is the kind of place that gets overlooked, but is one of those places that is worth seeing. It's in a tiny building and staffed by volunteers but a place I'd recommend if you are in the area.

This was an insight to the past seeing tools, utensils and machinery from the past not to mention the old b/w photos.
