The museum was amazing ! Our guide Ian was equally amazing with his knowledge of Maritime history and the exhibits. He was very personable and helpful as well. We especially loved the tour of the purse seine boat. Hope to return.

Loved the tour by a very friendly and knowledgeable guide- sorry didn’t get his name. A small but interesting local museum with many interesting items. Recommended.

A really interesting maritime historical centre for those who are into coastal boats and history. Our tour by a volunteer who had been one the people who helped restore the BC Packers B.C.P. 45, that was on the Canadian $5 bill, was excellent. Lots of historic items nicely presented.

The Maritime Heritage Centre was the venue for advance polls to the upcoming federal election, so this was our first time to glimpse a a part of the museum. From the brief time we had there it looked amazing. We shall endeavour to attend at a future date and really take all in that this is attraction has to offer.

An excellent guide talked us through the reconstruction of the huge tug boat that sits in the middle of the museum. The displays are minimal, but they focus on the specific maritime heritage of the area.

Here I was expecting another small town museum. Well, what a pleasant surprise this turned out to be! The centrepiece HAS to be the rebuilt fishing boat that once graced the Canadian five dollar bill. Our guide had personal knowledge this boat, which lent an air of credibility to its history and renovation that story boards just can't match. Also fascinating was the discussion of gill-nets, and why there are different sizes and colours. Our guide also had background knowledge on the Easthope engine - this clearly someone who has spent much of his life on the waters in the area. Enjoyed the story about the cruise ship running aground due to the fast tides in the area. I could go on, but should save something for when you visit. Well worth the $5 charge, lots of free parking.

We had a really well delivered guided tour by Bill (tour guide). The rebuilt fishing boat - what a great job of rebuilding (repairing) that tired old lady. The museum had lots of local maritime history + some really great ship models.

Maritime Heritage is a big and roomy centre with a fantastic little museum as well as many function rooms ready to rent. There is a certified kitchen, and rental rooms of varying size. It is clean and comfy and quite unique right downtown Campbell River. It's on the water and right by the fishing pier!

Finally made it to this Maritime Museum of the Pacific Coast. For me it was a walk down my history timeline as I am a West Coast native. Born & Bred. Scenes from my youth confronted me at every turn. After all, I was raised in a Post War Marine Chandlery.
