Got good guidance from the staff. Great exhibition about the history of hair. Clean and tidy appearance.

Varied exhibits make this an interesting museum. There is lots to engage both adults and children. The cafe's nice too. All staff we encountered were welcoming.

A fantastic museum with loads to see and do for the whole family. We always enjoy coming here when we are in the area. Well worth a donation to help keep it open.

Excellent experience. Super permeant exhibitions & temporary exhibitions. Lots for children & adults. Set in a beautiful park. Nice roomy cafe. Nice building. A few aspects of the very modern exhibits are not really up to the expectations of a museum exhibition. Parking a nightmare. Free entry, unlike the dreadful & expensive museums in Nottingham. Indoor & outdoor picnic sites.

The museum and grounds are a summer holiday must for our family. A great day out to spend time with the grandchildren with not too much of a cost involved. The museum and art gallery. are very good great for all ages and lots for kids to enjoy.
The weather was great so we set up a picnic in the park and the grandchildren always enjoy walking around the large pond to see all the ducks and birds.
Most money we spent was in the museum shop and ice creams at the ice cream van by the entrance gates.

There is a summer trail of things to find which is always a hit for us. As well as a craft activity of making bronze age style jewellery. There is always lots to see and explore and we could have stayed longer if needed.
There are lots of lower cost items available in the shop £1/£2 which I find helpful to enable you to get a treat and still keep it a lower cost day out.
We caught the bus which drops off right outside the nearest park entrance so very convenient.

What can i even say, such a beautiful location I've been to many times and it never gets old!! The exibits are so detailed, and there's some true treasures. Covid precautions are great, masks and hand wash, and they have closed some features which require you to touch them. It's always been a cool place, and sometimes there's an ice cream truck out side haha.
The cafe beside the entrance is simply put, gorgeous and elegant. The food is classic and made delicious. And the prices are good. The cafe is so pretty and atmospheric, lovely Windows and high ceilings and the decor is spot on!
The only thing I can complain about is the gift shop. It has great gifts but unfortunately they cost alot, once I went in for a gift for my mother and saw a small notebook she would like, but it was £9. It's ok though. I understand.
Go visit it's free!!!

I would definitely recommend visiting here. There are 'room sets' that one can walk around. A 'viking' hut and other amazing displays. We really didn't have much time (only a few hours). But it also has plenty of washrooms/a picnic area, shop, lockers (which if I remember need a returnable £1 coin). Also, the staff there are wonderful. Extremely knowledgeable, patient and enthusiastic. They don't just stand there glaring at you, They come and talk about the exhibits. WELL worth taking a school party along. (the cafe is quite reasonable too).

Is both the actual park and museum only open until 5 pm or just the museum? Unsure if the actual park bit is open 24/7 or just till 5pm?? Thanks

Can the venue cope with a coach load and is there somewhere for lunch?

Yes I would say so, perhaps best to ring in advance and check.
There is a cafe on site.
