What a disappointment as tearoom not open. I was there for after 10am with dogs for a lovely walk and coffee as I thought but tearoom doesn't open until at least 11.30am . This in the height of summer but no timetable on website or at tearoom. A person working told me the opening time ofthe tearoom. Lovely muffins and coffee from the horsebox in the village 😀

My brother & myself visited today (May 11) & it was a delightful experience enhanced by the member of staff who went way over & above to show us around & give us the history of the estate. Pity it isn't publicised more - we only discovered it by accident. It is really worth a visit.

Huge Weeds in vegetable garden , herbaceous Border recently replanted and poorly maintained. Tea house not open at appointed time. Why bother? Better gardens elsewhere

A very surprising visit, with immensely large trees from all over the world, planted 150 yrs ago. For instance you'll fins the largest sequioa tree in Europe. We were amazed by the Noble fir walk and the rhododendrons which were huge. We had no idea what to expect when we entered the garden and the arboretum, but it turned out to be a real secret garden, hidden in the hills above Inistioge. Well worth a visit, €5 entrance and you get to stroll around as long as you like and enjoy the results of the architectural mind of Lady Louisa Tighe from 150yrs ago

This is one of my favourite places for a great walk,I go early morning when it is very quiet, there is a large car park and is 5 euros to enter, the gardens are vast and there are several great walk ways with some through woods, there is a large gentry house there built in the late 1800 hundreds which burnt down many years ago, there are toilets there and you can get refreshments and meals in the nearby very beautiful village

Had a wonderful afternoon at Woodstock, fantastic views over the countryside from the formal garden in front of the ruined Manor House. The walled garden is just beginning to come to life after the long winter but the arboretum and rhododendrons were great. Unfortunately the tea room hasn’t opened yet. As we turned to begin the trek back to the car park a lovely man in a golf cart pulled up and offered my elderly father a lift back down the hill. Lenny and his terrier Murphy took us back via the Monkey Puzzle avenue and we had a great chat, he told us that all the maintenance and gardening is handled by only 5 full time employees!!!! I couldn’t come to Kilkenny and not visit Woodstock, it’s such a beautiful and peaceful location

We were staying nearby, and went for a ramble around the gardens. Lovely place to let children run off some energy, and adults to walk off some of the Christmas excesses! Lots of nice walks. Also toilets, and a children's playground.

Hello, so sorry for the delay in responding. The gardens are free apart from a parking charge which is 4.00 euro for as long as you wish to stay. The house is a ruin and so is not accessible, but the gardens are on a grand scale and a walled garden has been restored, along with a highly decorated conservatory that in its day was used as a tea house during summer time, for relaxing in. I highly recommend it to you. I have been there many times, as I am relatively local.
