Very cute little museum to visit while you are in the area. The man behind the counter was extremely nice and the collection is actually quite impressive.

Het museum is een weergave van allerlei memorabilia uit WO 2. Het is een mislukte poging de geschiedenis van het Ardennenoffensief in de winter van 1944-1945 weer te geven. Het bestaat uit een beperkt aantal, weliswaar originele, gebruiksvoorwerpen, uniformen en wapens uit die tijd maar niets wordt in de historische context geplaatst. Een toelichting inzake wat je precies ziet ontbreekt volledig.
Tip. Zet een paar maanden een museumdeskundige aan het werk om een logisch geheel te krijgen. Laat deze persoon ook een toelichting schrijven bij datgene wat je te zien krijgt en het museum wordt écht de moeite van het bezoeken waard.

Un musée si riche, si intéressant, si débordant de matériel, de souvenirs, de faits ... dommage qu'il soit ainsi encastré dans un tourbillon étroit, car il est très intéressant et parfaitement maîtrisé !

Enormément d'objets réels sur plusieurs niveaux, la qualité historique pourrait être améliorée s'il y avait un peu plus d'explication. A voir à la suite du musée voisin avec les maquettes, beaucoup plus agréable et grand. Ici, c'est assez exigu. Prix attractif (5 eur pour les 2 musées)

Een klein museum volgestouwd met authentiek oorlogsmateriaal, documenten, badges en pins, levensgrote oorlogstaferelen, die je terugduwen in de tijd van het laatste Duitse tegenoffensief geopend in Luxemburg. ‘ The battle of the Bulge’ oftewel ‘ De Slag om de Ardennen’ was één van de laatste gevechten met nodeloze bloedvergieten van WO 2.

The Clervaux Battle of the Bulge Museum is housed in the Clervaux Castle. This is a majestic edifice which is founded on the slopes of a rocky spur. The origin of the Castle isn't known though some historians hold the theory that it was built in the same place as a former Roman fort stood. The oldest part of that Castle is the West wing, dating back to the 12th century. It was enlarged in the 15th century and the so called “Witch Tower” was built in the main courtyard. New outbuildings were then added along the 16th and 17th centuries. It was precisely during the Battle of the Bulge that the Castle was badly damaged. Fortunately it was restored once it had been acquired by the Luxembourg State.
The Museum, though not too large, is an adequate place to get an insight into the Battle concerned. That Battle was the last attempt by the Third Reich to defeat the allied forces of the West. It took place in winter 1944-1945, starting in December 16th 1944. After the attack by the German troops and the considerable progress they made during the first days the allied forces regained the North sector by sector under the command of General Patton.
That historical moment of the Second World War is thoroughly conveyed to the visitors by means of an array of items, such as documents, and genuine uniforms and weapons which have an undeniable appeal to most of people visiting the Museum interested in that tragic episode of History. It's indeed gripping to know that the Battle of the Bulge lasted almost two months, being therefore one of the longest and most confusing battles of the mentioned War, during which Luxembourg was liberated from German occupation.
The visit to that Museum is recommended on account of the interesting items there displayed which call up the tragic events having taken place in the middle of the last century.

Réunissant une grande quantité d'objets de la bataille des Ardennes, armes, mais aussi conserves, cigarettes, produits de soin pour les soldats américains, cette expositions est très intéressante. Il y manque un tableau chronologique des évènements.

Beau petit musée très bien fourni en objets usuels (couverts, cigarettes, papiers,...) ayant appartenu à des soldats.
Beaux tableaux avec explications très claires.
Dommage qu'ils n'aient pas un peu plus de place pour exposer leurs trésors.
