I booked the Indian Bread making class for my mum's birthday. We leant to make 4 breads (naan, stuffed paratha, chapati and appams), and 2 curry's (butter chicken and mushroom). Alan is a very knowledgeable and relaxed teacher with years of experience as a trained chef.

Alan made the daunting task of making these breads very easy and fun, and has given us both the confidence to make the various breads at home.

I highly recommend the class and my mum and I are booking onto another one of his classes soon.

Just a brilliant day. Alan is an experienced chef and excellent teacher with Carol as his wing woman. We milled our own flour, made 3 sour dough loaves, made pancakes, sour dough of course. Alan debunked myths surrounding sourdough starters, you don't need to feed them each day, unless you are using them each day. We had 3 other loaves to take home, made sourdough pizza for lunch, had homemade shortbread. On top of that 2 x 30g of starter from Alan and Carol's starter from 1979, yes its still going! One for the freezer, as per instructions and one we have started to feed already.

Booked onto sourdough course with Alan and Carol who were both very welcoming.
Alan showed us how to make bread, pancakes and pizza which we had for lunch, we also took home several loafs and sourdough pancakes . The experience was brilliant and very relaxin we will certainly be going back to try another course

I was given the gluten free bread making course for 2 people as a Christmas present so I took a friend along with me who is also gluten intolerant.

Alan, who was our tutor, was extremely knowledgeable about all things relating to gluten and bread making in general. Both he and Carol were very welcoming and friendly and the whole experience was great fun and very relaxed.

We made gluten free pizza for our lunch and took home several loaves and rolls that we had made.

As a bonus, we also had time to make a few gluten free biscuits!

We both thoroughly enjoyed our time with Carol and Alan and wouldn't hesitate to recommend their gluten free bread making course.

Both Carol and Alan were very welcoming and friendly. Alan, who lead the lesson, was very patient, knowledgeable and explained the processes and steps in detail. My partner and I made brioche, baguettes, seeded knot rolls, and were given a 44-year old yeast starter (and a backup) to take home. Also, the sourdough pizza we made for lunch was perhaps one of the best pizzas I've ever had. The crust was salty and crispy and Alan's homemade chilli oil is divine (which we bought some). As soon as we got home, we had some brioche and it was so soft, sweet and fluffy. My partner and I definitely had a lot of fun learning, making and eating! I'm also feel much more confident in making my own bread now. We are already planning to visit again to try one of their other courses.

We booked a course here, having had many disastrous attempts at trying to make GF bread for our son. Alan was very knowledgeable and passionate about bread making in general, and provided us with some really helpful advice. We came away with a great selection of GF produce including 2 different types of bread, bread rolls, pizza and biscuits - our son was very impressed and found the bread to be far better than anything shop bought.

Alan and Carol were lovely hosts and we will definitely be returning for further courses.

Pasta making course for two - informal, great fun and made some great food to bring away. Additionally, we got to talking about bread and sourdough in particular so got almost two lessons for the price of one.

This 4 hour session was a real treat and being taught by someone who doesn't only have the knowledge, and skill to teach it, but also a deep seated passion for food and baking. This passion is only surpassed by Alan's desire to share his knowledge and make this artisan skill accessible to people.

We will be heading back for the sourdough course too, soon. Thanks for an amazing day.

Superb personal and highly enjoyable half day - learning not just from a chef but a knowledgeable experienced professional who has taken time to research and advance knowledge. Very relaxed - learned loads- fridge and freezer happy

Fantastic day with Alan and Carol. We both really enjoyed the relaxed approach and all the various 'chef' tips were very interesting. He certainly knows his trade.
Lunch was also lovely!

What a great experience & highly recommended. Alan & Carol were fantastic hosts and we can't thank them enough for showing us how to bake and for all of the bread making recipes they have provided us with. The Artisan Bread Making Course was very well structured, informative and Alan went at our pace which as novice bakers was great. It was also great that there were only 2 of us on the course which we really loved, all followed up with a great pizza lunch and baking tips that we have taking away for our future baking adventures. Thank you Alan & Carol.
