While visiting Exuma for a week, we quickly learned food is very expensive on the island. We mixed our trip with some cooking at our AirBNb and some eating out. Exuma Markets had the widest selection of food, but be prepared to be creative with the meals you are looking to fill. Items are stocked as they get things in. Eggs are only delivered twice a week and on Sunday at 8am they were out. We tried to go when they first opened to get the best selection, but we timed it wrong by one day. We were told the boat delivered twice a week and Monday was one of those days. We found some other frozen breakfast choices so just be flexible. Most items are double or even triple the cost in the USA but keep in mind this is a small island and the food has to be barged in.

Exuma Market had a decent selection of groceries- the first time we went was Saturday afternoon when we first arrived because we weren’t sure if they would be open on Sunday. I will say the produce was scant and picked over but the mango’s were delicious!! The prices on some items were high, and others were more reasonable. All in all, higher than in the states but I was expecting that. We were able to pick up essentials and appreciated that they were open. We also needed some more water and they were open on their Labor Day holiday when most places were closed. I think you can order online but we never used that service.

Very stocked with all the necessary supplies. It's true, everything is very expensive but if you go out to dinner in restaurants, as well as the food as it is cooked, it leaves a lot to be desired, the prices are truly crazy!! For one course you don't spend less than $25. So if you have the ability to cook much better.

GOOD store to shop for food and other you need. Prices are more than you would pay for some things like toothpaste in the UK or USA because of the extra cost of getting it to the island. But it is a great little supermarket to shop at.

Overall I enjoyed the market. A bit higher than the states but understandable. They accept all credit cards except discover. I asked this question to one of the employees and she politely answered. The owner must have overheard me ask because he seemed to have gotten offended and made a sarcastic comment back to me. I’m not sure what that was about but I never went to the Bahamas so certainly didn’t think it was offensive to ask how I can patronize your store. Other than that it was a fine shopping experience. They had fresh fruit and produce and unique products as well.

This is a nice grocery store in George Town, Great Exuma, Bahamas. The produce section was amazing, in that I've never seen so many fruits & vegetables together in my life ! We were able to find the items that we went there for. The prices on some items were outrageously high, so we just skipped those. Everything is imported & we knew that the prices would be high, so it didn't bother us.

Se pensate di risparmiare facendo la spesa al supermercato a Georgetown rimarrete delusi. I prezzi sono alle stelle: un pacco di patatine 5 dollari, la carta assorbente 8 dollari, ad esempio. La frutta è molto cara e neanche granché. Sicuramente dipende dal fatto di essere su un'isola ma sorprende il livello dei costi e alle 18 in punto battenti chiusi e non ti fanno entrare neanche per un acquisto volante.

This shop was the only place I found to buy fresh fruit or vegetables. They also have boxes, bottles, jars and cans! Four dollars for a 6 pack of soda, 1.80 for 2 bananas. It is island pricing and availability

I'm not from Exuma Markets, but take a look at Peace and Plenty Hotel. It's a boutique hotel right on the ocean. Great restaurant attached to it.

Are toiletries like suntan lotion, shampoo, shaving cream, skin lotion reasonably priced? If so will just do carry on and buy there. Going 9/21/18. Thanks for any help.

Based on reviews, this seems to be s grocery store. Do they have local and authentic seasonings and foods? Our first trip the the Bahamas is coming up, and I am not sure what is traditional for this island, but would love to take some local flavor home!
