This is one of two places we shopped for souvenirs while we were in Exuma. Actually, I think they may have been the only 2 places to shop for souvenirs in Exuma other than the tiny place across from the airport by Kermit’s.
There are ladies weaving and making products while they are also selling their wares that were interesting to watch for a bit. You can get Kalik T shirts as well as other Exuma/Bahamas shirts, sweatshirts, hats, bags, keychains, ornaments, bottle openers, magnets,license plates,shot glasses and other cups/water bottles. They have quite a bit of items but not a lot of styles to choose from. Some of them can make shirts in different colors/sizes that aren’t available and you can get them the next day. The sides of the building are open so our experience was that if it rains they may close and not reopen until the next day. I had read that they like to haggle but we did not find that to be the case. As far as prices go, I felt they were higher than other places/islands I have been to but it is Exuma and there really isn’t any other options with the selection. Across the street is Sandpiper which is a much nicer store with better quality shirts and jewelry

This little straw market is in a covered building but the sides are open so our experience is that when it rains it is closed and doesn’t reopen. There are ladies selling goods like shirts, hats, shot glasses keychains, bottle openers, ornaments and other various souvenir items as well as straw bags, bowls (that are apparently woven so tight they will hold water). I did find that if they didn’t have the color/size you wanted in the shirts, they have the capability of printing them and bringing them in the next day. I have read that they like to haggle but that was not our experience. The prices were high in my opinion for a souvenir type place but as far as I could tell there is only one other place (Sandpiper arts and crafts) which is across the street. So there isn’t much competition or other things to choose from. There are probably 12 “booths” but I guess any of them can complete your purchase for you. They all have pretty much the same things but there are a few items that differ. All in all, it was a good experience. I think the prices also reflect that everything has to be imported

Il mercato è piccolino ed ha orari poco in linea con chi cerca di trascorrere le ore di sole al mare. Piuttosto caro, quasi come i souvenir dell'aeroporto, ma in realtà pochi oggetti rapiscono l'attenzione, mentre gran parte sono abbastanza demode'

Great shopping in Exuma at the straw market. Plan on an hour to get through all the booths, there's so much to take in. Great gifts and take homes we got a bunch of things while here.

Everyone got what they wanted! No bartering on prices, but that was fine. Prices were fair and selection was good.

Typical tourist fair with t-shirts, magnets, bracelets and the like. The upshot are the woven bags, bowls, trivets, etc, but they were quite pricey ($200 for one woven basket). That really was the only locally made item that I could see. The rest was your typical touristy stuff. The vendors were really nice. I wanted to like this place more than I did. A better option is The Sandpiper.

I had a great experience at the Straw Market. The ladies were extremely nice and helpful and not pushy at all. There are so many great gift items you can get here from jewelry to tshirts, decorative items, magnets, hats, etc etc. There’s something here for everyone! Definitely recommend a visit whether you’re looking for your standard souvenir items or something unique.

Found so many things and bought them here!! Loved the ladies and how friendly they were. Watching them make the straw items right in front of us was amazing.

This is exactly what you’d expect on a small island run by tourism. You don’t need anything more and anyone who says it wasn’t enough goes to enormous fairs and loves too much useless stuff. Buy a T-shirt or hat, chat with the amazing women who run the little shops and expect nothing more than what it is and you’ll be happy.

Plenty of locally produced items. The vendors each wove local style baskets that were reasonably priced. Several were purchased along with tee shirts etc. Easy to get around in town everything is close by.
