Mr Belmore was a very rude and unsavoury character. He made very sny comments regarding our perceived intelligence and also the price of the guided tour which, by the way was far more expensive than the other history tours we had done that day. I would never spend money to be followed around by such rude character so no option for an unguided tour was very disappointing.

Mauve was absolutely wonderful to share her property and history with us. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and exploring the grounds. I recommend this tour for anyone traveling through the area.

Sometimes, you are happy when you take a wrong turn on the road. We were looking for Jerpoint Abbey. After driving up the beautiful driveway to the house, we realized we were in the wrong place. A lady approached us and asked if she could help. We told her we were on our way to the Abbey and that we wanted to eat something first. The friendly lady informed us that this was not possible as there was another group present. She mentioned that she could give us a tour of the lost town and the tomb of Saint Nicholas (which is quite special for us Dutch people). After a short walk to the information board, we were amazed by the beautiful tour. The lady knew a lot about the history of the area and shared various new and interesting facts with us. We had a fantastic tour. It is highly recommended for anyone interested in history to visit this place.
A small tip for the Dutch people: the guide really enjoyed the stroopwafels we brought.

Absolutely beautiful park, the owners were both so lovely, knowledgeable and humble husband and wife team, who truly appreciate how special the area is and how they want to share it with all, which ties into the legacy of St Nicholas so aptly. The grave stone was obviously weathered but you can make out the unique features that Maeve so expertly talked us through. The ravens watched over us the whole time. So peaceful, the land made my family and I tingle, you can feel the history, a truly special place. Thankyou for the mesmorising tour Maeve, we will definitely be back.

My daughters ,their friend and myself were driving down a country road to Thomastown, the birth place of late husband's Grandfather. We passed the sign for Jerpoint Park and decided to drive down the long private sweeping winding road that swept through the estate . Joe the present owner was sat outside,he smiled warmly at us as we got out of the car and immediately began talking to us. He was extremely sociable and gave us a brief social history regarding the estate . Joe then contacted his wife Maeve to say that there were visitors,Maeve was our guide throughout our stay. She was so warm and welcoming, extremely enthusiastic and knowledgeable ,her love for her home was genuine. She had a deep sense of responsibility regarding the estate ,that it was a privilege to be the present custodians . Maeve led us down from the house ,through the grounds to the beautiful tranquil medieval site .The area had once been a thriving bustling town during the 12 th C.If you closed your eyes you could imagine and sense the reality of been present at that time ,a deep sense of history all around . Outside the ancient walls of St Nicholas church was a large cemetery, steeped in history including the tomb effigy of St Nicholas,of whom we had previously read about. This was the highlight of the day for us all. The tomb had a deep spiritual energy surrounding it,which was very profound,my daughters were very reluctant to leave,a n extremely moving experience. This was one of those special moments in time, difficult to articulate . Thank you Joe and Maeve for sharing it with us,you are so blessed living here Christine ,daughters Nicola and Natalie and friend Nicola

We drove into the parking lot, walked across the yard, looked into all the rooms that were accessible: no one was there... so we drove away empty-handed.

One of a kind experience. You’ll walk the property to see ruins of a lost village and see border collies at work. Joe and Shep were amazing.

Joe was our guide at Jerpoint Park.
He was welcoming and funny and full of history. The site is beautiful and we had all the time we needed to explore. No rushing.
The walk across the field in amongst all of the stone from the long road and the town set your imagination running wild.
After we were finished Joe brought his young dog Glen out and gave us a herding demonstration. I was in awe of the relationship between this man and his dog.

Jerpoint Park was a high point on our trip to the Kilkenny area. Joe was a well-informed host with a charming sense of humor. We learned a lot about the history of this area and had a lovely demonstration of the work of a sheep dog. I would highly recommend a visit to anyone in the area

St. Nick's burial grounds. Uncovered from years of neglect. Along with the church and cemetery from before the crusades. Tom, the owner, was engaging and knowledgeable. I can't believe it's not commercialized or an Irish memorial site. We even got homemade scones with jam and cream from Tom's wife, Maeve. Absolutely fascinating and a can't miss.
