Spent an interesting and informative morning learning about stingless bees at the International Stingless Bee Center. Samuel was knowledgeable and answered all our questions. We really enjoyed our time there.

Very interesting research station, very active people showing you around. First hand experience, nice shop attached, a must-see for everybody, not only for bee keepers!

We really enjoyed visiting the bee center, the staff were very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. It's only 10 minutes away from kakum national park and on the way from Cape coast so we recommend a visit! We had a history of the bees at the center, got to see the hives, had a walk on a nature trail and sampled some of the honey, all with an informative guide telling us about everything the center was doing. Well worth a trip!

Fascinating, Educational

We were in Ghana on a birding excursion, but our tour company, Easy Track, included other places of interest. We found this one very interesting, to know how rare stingless bees are, and that a few quite different types are found in Ghana. We were fascinated by the tiniest of them and would have liked to submit a photo but did not have the option in this case.

We had a lovely visit to the International Stingless Bee Centre. Our guide Samuel was very helpful and knowledgeable. It was fun to get up close and personal with these unique and friendly bees. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing, and educational experience, I highly recommend visiting this place.
Price was 44 cedis each.

Did a short tour here led by a very enthusiastic guy who needs visitors support and interest.
Thoroughly enjoyed seeing the various bees and tasting their honey which you can also buy.

The guide was friendly and passionate about his bees! Tour cost ₵20 which I thought was pricey but I understand. You get to sample 3 types of honey produced by the stingless bees. I found the information interesting and nicely delivered. Its great if you are interested in bees, can be boring if you aren't. We asked for a quick tour since time wasn't on or side.

Unique and highly recommendable

We found this place by coincidence thru a road sign. The small stony road there should not keep you away. It is worth a visit. You get an informative tour around the property and the different bee hives for 20 Cedi, students 10.
It is very informative. Staff is super friendly and can answer lots of questions.
The bees without stings are incredible small creatures. If you are lucky they even have honey for you there to buy.
Maybe for the future there is another, environmentally more friendly option, to keep away the lizzards and ants from the hives, apart from car oil, which is toxic for the soil and all living organisms in it.

After traveling there from Cape Coast by trotro (45min) and walk another 10min I found the place closed. The website didnt say anything about it, so I was quited disappointed. I had to come back to Cape Coast, wasting another hour bargaining with taxis coming from Kakum and extra money for nothing. I would recommend to everyone to call before you go, like most of the attractions I visited in Ghana the reliability is low. Hopefully I get to see the Bee Centre next time.

Visited this centre as one of the attractions on our trip around the Kakum area.
Greeted at the gate by the very friendly tour guide who then proceeded to inform us of our expectations of our visit. We began with an informative 'lesson' on the history of both the bees and of the centre itself. They have 6 species of stingless bee here and you are able to see the 3 main types as well as touch 1 of these and the option to take pictures when doing so. From here we went inside to taste the three types of honey produced here, with the option of purchase (Can't recall if it's 20 or 30 Cedi to buy).
Very interesting and informative. Would recommend.
