We stopped by hoping for a wonderful experience and to purchase gifts for friends and family. We were excited to purchase something local and to help the economy this way as well. I went into the store, and over to a counter where there was a plate of samples being prepared, and before I made our planned purchase thought i'd try a sample. I was YELLED at for taking what looked like a sample plate of chocolate - i'm talking 0.5 cm square piece. I mean YELLED. If this wasn't the owner - well that says a lot! If it was the owner, that says even more. He claimed it was for the group who were taking the workshop. Took the MORSEL out of my hand and placed it back on the plate. The poor staff look mortified as did the other patrons. BEWARE of whoever this person is! Shameful! Grey haired with beard. ANGRY human! Nothing like the locals or expats we've met the 3 times we have visited this beautiful, gentle, friendly country!

We were welcomed and able to engage in the tasting right away, even without a reservation. It was very informative and delicious!!!

Off the beaten path on our way to Tamarindo was this little gem. We saw signs and decided to take a quick right into the unpaved street. Boy what a great decision that was.
The staff was great, the owner was caring and the chocolate tasted incredible. We purchased at least 15 bars ($6 a bar) and brought them home to friends and family. Everyone raved about the flavor and quality.
You can sit down and do several tastings including tastings for hot chocolate. There are tons of chocolate flavors and each one is packed with natural flavors of their cacao beans!! Not to be missed!

This local only chocolate factory and shop was an off the beaten path gem . Two hours of tasting chocolate made right on site out a tour of the facilities , garden , and learned about how chocolate was made the history . Come hungry and leave high !!!

We accidentally came across this place the way back from Playa Chonchal. Saw a sign and did not even know what to expect: a chocolate shop, a factory, or both. This is a small show room where chocolate manufacturers exhibit their products, and how they make it. We have really enjoyed tasting a lot of different chocolates. It was but disappointin how it was presented. The owner(?) guy had an interesting style on the border of being proud of the place and being arrogant. It was more of arrogance… come here to taste great chocolate but ask questions if you want to learn anything.

Andreas taught us all about chocolate, you could tell he was passionate about his job and you could see why. They have the best chocolate I have ever had in my life! I highly recommend stopping in!

This place was amazing. We did both tastings and our 4yr old and 7yr old absolutely loved it. The flavors were like nothing we have ever had before and the place is small and inviting. David was so welcoming and gave us a 5star experience. The mocha will blow your mind. Great prices, great atmosphere, and great service. Highly recommend!!!

We stopped in without reservations and were immediately helped to a tasting.
You can build your visit by flights on chocolates and sipping chocolate in between. The staff are helpful in answering questions.
The chocolate is EXCELLENT quality. The best I've had and I'm a junkie.
You can then purchase bars or bags of the sipping chocolate mix.
The owner stopped by to chat and Thor, the dog, did too.
Highly recommend, would visit again!!

Great experience with the family, including small kids. Tastings were great to discover different types of chocolate. Loved the place and staff was really nice and knowledgeable! Highly recommend

Amazing tour and workshop! Ron and his staff are very knowledgeable, lots of hands on and we could make and take home two chocolate bars.

How far in advance do you have to book? And can someone tell me the cost? Thanks

We book by appointment and need a minimum of two people. The workshop is 3.5 hours and the cost is $60/person.
We only do workshops in the morning during the hot season(now) and are open about booking. Sometimes we can take a booking for the next morning and that all depends on staff and chocolate production schedules. Just give a call at 8883-5832 or email.
As I am answering you inquiry I noticed we received this at 7 a.m. but the square your question is in says it was from one day ago?
