My spouse and I booked 3 days/2 nights in the Entre Rios area with Diego in mid-November. It was our first time to Argentina for birding. He picked us up from our lodging and dropped us off at the end, with our last visit being to Vicente Lopez Ecological Reserve in Buenos Aires on the last day. Our lodging at Estancia Rio de las Aves was most excellent, including the food and gorgeous setting. Diego’s vast experience and knowledge was evident, not only in birding, but in many other areas about which we conversed. He was easy to be with, attentive to anything we saw, and went into explanations beyond just the bird ID. He was a teacher, too, as he gently challenged us to remember names of birds after we’d seen them several times. We saw 125+ species. We highly recommend Diego as an experienced, competent, and caring birding guide in Buenos Aires and surrounding areas.

Fabulous day of birding. A must do for anyone visiting BA and wanting a day with great opportunities to sight an amazing number of species. Diego went out of his way to ensure we sighted and often photographed the birds we were looking for

I found Diego's contact in BirdingPal. I dropped him an email, asking for a one-day guided birding tour and got immediate response with an elaborated choice of various options. I asked back, explaining my preferences and we had a deal!
We went to Southern Entre Rios, which is a bit less than a two-hours drive from Buenos Aires/Puerto Madero. The full package included Hotel pickup, driving, guiding, coffee, snacks, drinks, and most of all: excellent bird watching including a custom-tailored check list. Diego is a great guide, who knows the avifauna inside out. If you would like to make the most of your precious time and see the maximum number of birds, learn about them, flexibly adjust your time to study them or take pictures: Diego will make it happen!
If I could click six stars, I would! TripAdvisor offers just five... ;)

During a stop over in Buenos Aires we wanted to do some birding. We contacted Diego Gallegos by e-mail and he appeared to offer the type of trip we were looking for and so it proved to be. He really knows the area and his birds.
He picked us up at 6.00 am from the hotel and we spent the whole morning at the Otamendi National Park and we were introduced to a wide range of birds we had never encountered before - it was our first trip to South America. We were not rushed and were made to feel completely at home. Diego provided an excellent picnic lunch at the Park HQ. We then moved on to the Vicente Lopez Reserve for another good session before finally returning to the hotel.
It was an excellent day and we can recommend Diego to fellow birders without any hesitation.

My wife and I went for a half-day tour with Diego and had a fantastic time. We visited two top birding spots and saw over 50 different types of birds. Over 25 of them were new birds for us.
The reserves we visited were beautiful and Diego knew where to find the birds. He knew them by site and sound. He was also very patient and helpful. He also speaks great English. He has been birding for over 30 years in this area.
He picked us up at the hotel in a nice car and provided snacks and water as needed.
If you like nature or birds, then this is a great tour to sign up for.
