This place is a true hidden gem that is not to be missed. I'm not even a "car guy" and neither is my wife, but that doesn't matter. You will be fascinated by this collection started by Jack Mendenhall and continued by his son Mark and Mark's wife Vickie. Call in advance to set up your visit and you will have a guided tour by either Mark or Vickie. Our tour was with Vickie, who was such a delight. Each (we also overheard Mark) will provide terrific anecdotes and point out items that should not be missed. For example, there is a wall of California license plates except that in 1944, instead of a plate, there is a small square certificate made of paper, as metal was a premium during war time. You will find a fascinating collection of gasoline pumps through the decades starting in the 20's. They have close to an acre of land, attached to their home, dedicated to their passion and it comes through. We had a blast.

This father and son combo have amassed an amazing collection well worth the price of admission. You won't be sorry.

This museum is by appointment only. We called around 10am and was told by the owner to come by noon the same day. Admission is $15/adult & $5/child. When we get there the gate was locked but opened immediately by Misty, owners daughter. The collection is amazing and in perfect condition. All area of the house/museum is clean considering the massice collection. Misty is very knowledgeable, funny and answered all our questions. She was very thorough and even took us to the kitchen and took our pictures on all the interesting spot. The tour lasted 1.5 hours. If you're interested in auto history, racing and gas station memorabilia this is a must see, highly recommend.

It is no surprise to me that this place has such a high rating. It is only open for tours by reservation, so PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, give them a call a set up a time to tour this fabulous collection. There is so much to see, it boggles the mind and brings back great memories of your childhood. There were 6 of us that signed up and the tour was private. The guide was the daughter-in-law of Jack Mendenhall, who amassed the collection and she gave us a wonderful tour. She never rushed us and gave us all the time we needed to fully appreciate the collection, while supplying great anecdotes and interesting information. The cost is $15.00 per person and worth every penny. My only regret was that they were out of my size in a souvenir T-Shirt that I had my eye on.

Overload of things to look at. This is such a fun place to wander through and the owner’s daughter (guide) is very knowledgeable.

What a fabulous collection! We could've spent the entire day there, there's so much to see and hear on the tour. If you appreciate Petroliana, this is truly an unexpected, pleasant find. Beautifully curated, so much history, and the owners are just wonderful. There's so much more than just gas pumps and signs, it's a piece of history!

Toured with a VW group, this place is amazing, quite a collection. If you can get a tour it's worth it!

Such a great place that is full of nostalgia. From old gas pumps, old oil-signs from long ago and just a bunch of history to look over. Really cool how you go from room to room but the couple who own this place live there. One of the rooms they use as their family room. We all had a great time. Very interesting thing to go do.

If you have any interest in automobilia at all stop here. It is overwhelming that anyone could collect so much. Very interesting history behind the gathering of so much. The daughter gives a personal touch and welcome you into their home.
