Took my Granddaughters here on a road trip. Beautiful walking trail. Great photo ops. Not crowded at all.

I felt nice and safe walking the boardwalk here, especially when the sides of the boardwalk were protected by metal fencing.
Near the fire tower I saw an alligator.
This was a nice little encounter with nature.

So fun! We love checking out nature. My daughter (18m) loved running on the board walk and exploring new plants and animals! We even saw baby alligators!

Newcomer to South GA and found this little boardwalk hike just down the road from me. DO NOT SKIP this trip! This place is quite beautiful, chance encounters with several different cool birds, a BABY ALLIGATOR!, lizards, snakes, so much wildlife and bugs and so much to observe. The tower and extended boardwalk were so cool to visit! I’ll be back regularly. Easy hike (1/4 mile out and in), SAFE! Guard rails and goat mesh keep you and the kids on the boardwalk in most areas. The tower is sturdy and has many hand/guard rails also. This is a MUST DO family activity!

Beautiful trail along a wood plank walkway. Very easy to do for anyone. The fire tower is the highlight and it was so cool to climb and look out over the swamp and beautiful birds. I would love to see it in Spring! We were disappointed the bathrooms weren't open. We had planned to picnic. We were in the middle of a long drive so it was very nice to get out and get some exercise in a very remote serene place!

Nice walk for anyone. Not difficult at all. We did not see any wildlife but enjoyed seeing the swamp. Information office was not open even though we were there on Friday afternoon. We would have asked some questions, The signs are in desperate need of updating.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. So peaceful and we even saw a crane.
Someone took their dog on the boardwalk and then didn’t clean up the feces. So, watch your step.

This was a nice stop to stretch our legs after traveling from Florida to Georgia on interstate 75. There is a long boardwalk to an old fire tower. It is very refreshing to get some fresh air with about a 1 mile walks in the swamp.

The wildlife boardwalk makes a pleasant stroll of a nature walk that is accessible by all. Take advantage of this park if you are a local.

Does this place cost money, just to go and view the area? I don't see anyone mention it cost money. I tried calling and was told to even be on the property, I must buy some type of license, even if I do not plan on fishing or hunting? Wasn't sure if that was true because I got past around to different people on the phone that didn't even sound like they knew what park I was calling about. Can someone clarify if there is a cost for just visiting??
YES, it does cost money to use this area even if you are just walking and viewing wildlife. There are signs at the entrance stating that it is a "user fee area" with instructions on how to purchase them. You have to purchase and possess ONE of the following: A valid GA hunting license, GA fishing license or GA Lands Pass. You may receive a citation if you do not have the required license.
Are they going to be open this weekend? My granddaughter's boyfriend would like to climb the tower to ask her to marry him..

No charge.
Do they have certain hours the gates are closed or days you can't come at all?

The park is open from daylight to dark. I have been there during the week and on Saturday. I don't know if they are open Sunday.
Is this open to the public? Do you have to obtain a license or pay any fees to enter?
You will be fined, if you do not have a huntinv/ fishing license, or a land pass. 300$ for being there without one! Its robery.
