Quick visit that is worth the time. Close to several places to eat and the resort is just up the hill. Classic covered bridge that is walk over only so you don't need to dodge traffic.

Beautiful covered bridge. On our recent trip to Maine we stopped and saw this covered bridge, it was one of the many beautiful sites of Maine.

Beautiful covered bridge with a short walking trail up the river and spots to fish or swim. Only 5 minutes from Sunday River Grand Summit hotel.

Signage was easy to follow. You can drive up to, but not onto the bridge. There is a pathway down to the river and you can take photos of the bridge from below. American History at its finest.

This 1872 bridge is known as the Artist's Bridge because one of America's first Impressionists and a specialist in New England landscapes, John Enneking, used to paint by the side of the bridge. So many people saw him painting there in the late 1800s that they nicknamed the bridge 'The Artist's Bridge'. I loved the bridge's architecture. It's in a very serene spot, but unfortunately the portion of Sunday River that's under it has been greatly reduced (see pic), probably due to the very hot and dry summer we had.

It is closed to drive over. But right on the side of the road. Beautiful bridge. The river had very little water. It is very easy to find

Stopped to checkout the old covered bridge. Interesting and something we don't see back home. Limited parking. Overlooking a scenic creek with a great view of the mountains.

Just follow the signs and be amazed. Our first covered bridge spotting. We were not disappointed. Its exactly what we expected and in very good condition as old as it is, I think 1872 or thereabouts. We were driving around exploring and checking out The Jordan Hotel.

Great old covered bridge. A bit out of the way but everything in that part of Maine is! Beautiful drive all around the area. Spent five days in an around Roxbury, Newry, Bethel, Andover and Rangely. Great laid back inexpensive trip.

We drove to the Sunday River Covered Bridge after a visit to Screw Auger Falls. It is a historic bridge and well maintained. It's not in a very scenic area and there is no information concerning the history of the bridge at the bridge. I'm glad we went, but we've seen other more historic bridges in Maine, such as the Wire Bridge.
