What a delight it was to visit with Juan at Poor Boy's! This is an absolute gem that you can easily pass by if you're not looking for it.

For years, I have passed through Tatum on the way to Texas and points beyond. I had never stopped here and I am glad I took the time! The talent that Juan, the owner, possesses is off the charts. And yet, he is very humble and more than willing to take his time and visit with those who stop into his amazing shop. He can craft virtually anything from metal. I asked him about possible designs for our church and our home and he stated all he needed was a picture or design.

The prices for his wide variety of crafts and art are very reasonable. Considering all the work that goes into what he does, it is worth every penny.

If you are passing through Tatum, DO NOT miss an opportunity to visit Juan and his store. It was time well spent. Now the challenge is to figure out what we want to purchase to add tot he decor of our church and home! This is a must see!

The metal work caught our eye. We were delighted to find not only standard metal work as well as beautiful metal detailed art. We are so pleased with the piece that we purchased. The artist is such a friendly man!

Found the most talented metal artist. His work is outstanding. You notice all the metal signs when you go into town and we had to stop to look at the statue honouring our falling heroes. Then we noticed the shop. His work is fabulous his work is way above anything we have seen. And his prices are not sky high, in fact very reasonable .

Pulled in to check out this fascinating store. Was drawn in by the metal monkey's swinging from the trees. Juan road up on his bike and opened his shop for us. There are metal street signs throughout the town that he has created. Also a metal sculpture of a policeman with Judson front of the police station. We bought a road runner, the state bird, for 20.00. Be sure to stop if your in the area.

The small town of Tatum, New Mexico is the location for the most talented sign maker I've ever found. When you approach the town along US Highway 380 you start to notice beautifully made metal signs for the ranches, then in the town you see the street name signs are unique, crafted metal art works. Every shop or company seems to have their own representative sign.

Then (opposite the police station with its own unique sign) is
Poor Boy's Metal Art. A wonderful collection and shop of metal art ranging from the cheeky green aliens (well Roswell is only down the road) to the moving Support Our Troops statues.

Well worth a stop and photo.
