The Goshen Historic Track should not be missed. The stable area is right there where you can walk along the stalls and see the horses. The Track is right next to the Goshen Harness Track Museum & Hall of Fame.

This museum had many artifacts and displays of its racing history. It included audio displays, uniforms, horse stables, sulkies, awards, souvenir shop, and a room upstairs to see the whole horse racing track! We spent about an hour here - looking, reading, taking photos... and were in awe about the intricacies of harness racing. ...Nice place to stop for a visit, followed up with a delicious Goshen Restaurant!

Fun place to watch the horse races. Lots of fun, good food & nice people. A pleasant day to sit in the historic box seats & look at the beautiful track as the horses warm up and then race. Great photo opportunities here !

Last year we made a trip to Goshen, NY for the 'Great American Weekend', with the intent of it just being a side event on the way to visit our daughter in Albany; this year we explicitly made the trip again because we enjoyed it so much. It's impossible to describe how awesome the hometown feel permeates the event. Although the Great American Weekend is not listed on Trip Advisor as a Top 10 for Goshen (as that it is only on the first July weekend every year), it is something that should not be missed!

In the heart of the town is the Goshen Historic Track, which features horse (trotter) racing. We missed this last year, but this year made a point of attending. To start the general admisson is only 5 dollars a person and on the Sunday we attended the race card consisted of 12 races. The seating is limited to about 500 people, which is actually just perfect as that this is a hometown racetrack filled mostly with the locals, but when you're here; your transformed immediately into a neighbor, as that the friendship is immediately extended. They have a food concession and beverage area (both alcoholic and non alcoholic). There was no Para mutual betting, but actually it just made it more enjoyable as that everyone had their favorite, cheering accordingly and no one leaves a loser.

If your visiting Goshen this is a must see.
E.H. Harriman had a club house for his guests located at the track that is now the track office. The Goshen Inn located right on the track was his building so all his friends that came to visit the track would have a place to stay.
It's best seen during the race days of summer but still worth a visit any time, along with the Hall of Fame of the Trotter, also located right on the track.
Refreshments are served during race days just no betting!

Wow - very old but still operational horse racing track. Wooden buildings, bleaches, stables, blacksmith shop. Many historical markers.

This is a piece of history that is truly a piece of art. Over the years, being an owner it was a real special opportunity to sit and watch the jogging going on.

Something different for a Sunday afternoon...bring the family and cheer on your favorite horse. Admission price is reasonable and refreshments are available.

Lots of fun in an old operating race track. No betting. Try to attend when their is a function at the track or town.

Gorgeous! Wonderful ! Loved every minute back at the track! The views are spectacular! Not a bad seat anywhere inside this old but classic grandstand!
