Glowing review. I’ve been sailing for over 30 years with experience in costal cruising, offshore passages, club, and regatta racing. I met up with Captain Brett to challenge the ASA 103. I both had a blast doing so and learned along the way.

From my experience with Sail-Ontario, Captain Brett has the knowledge, competency, and acumen of a talented instructor to create a welcoming, supportive, and at-ease environment for learning. Whether you are interested in learning to sail for the first time, or just looking to improve your abilities in certain skillsets on the water, I am confident that you will be met by a respectful and genuine welcome into the Sail-Ontario community.

That’s what sailing is all about!

P.S. They have charter/day-rental boats as well.

Beautiful experience

Amazing experience in great company. The boat captain was very accommodating, calm and knowledgeable. We went on the evening cruise which was very romantic! Definitely would do it again. Thank you!

If you want to learn how to sail, polish your skills, or rent a boat, on beautiful Lake Ontario ... Sail Ontario is the place to go and Captain Brett is the perfect instructor! Patient, philosophical, fun, great teacher, and part of the "Band of Brothers!" He gets human flourishing and wants others to enjoy the journey. The boat, wind and water are calling!

Awesome half day sailing adventure

Awesome day sailing, swimming, and island exploring! Captain Brett was terrific answering our sailing newbie questions and sharing experiences, but also left us alone to chit chat when we wanted. The boat was super comfortable (for most of us but more on that later) with plenty of room for our gear and snacks. It was great to swim on a hot and humid 90 degree day. All of us age 50+ rusty swimmers made it from the boat to the island even though the water was over our head 99% of the way….one even made it without getting hair wet and wearing sunglasses and flip flops on her hands (though we recommend water shoes). On the way out we experienced tacking, heeling, sail raising and lowering, and learned not to sit on the floor up top unless you like sliding in water rushing over the bow. The way back was absolutely wonderful as all 6 of us could sit on top while eating and drinking without a single spill. Highly recommend the half day sail.

Great Day on the Lake

We had a wonderful day on Lake Ontario today. It was smooth sailing all the way and the beautiful scenery and our Captain Brett kept us entertained. We were served a lovely lunch on board and Brett was extremely accommodating. I highly recommend Sail Ontario.

A calm sail on a beautiful night. The captain was very accommodating regarding rescheduling due to the weather. He took the time to thoughtfully answer questions from a 10 year old fascinated by sailboats. Would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing way to spend an evening.

Great sail. Just "what the doctor ordered!"

Perfect weather for a great sail. The outboard started right up and the sails ready to hoist and didn't take long to get out of the marina and turned into the wind so I could hoist the main and unfurl the jib and be off. For a lot of the afternoon, I had the harbor to myself!

Perfect summer night

This was an amazing experience, and beautiful as well! Brett was an awesome captain, and made our time with him enjoyable. It was so nice to explore a new town we had never been to, and be out on the water. I highly recommend booking a charter through Sail Ontario. We will be back!
