Out of our way but wines sounded interesting. HOWEVER after checking website and then verifying the hours by phone (11am-5pm), we arrived and waited in the lot until 11:15am - then rang the doorbell - lady said would be there in a minute. She unlocked door - no hello or welcome as we came in - just silence. After standing there waiting while she said nothing asked if we could do a tasting and she curtly said opening was at noon - told her that was not the posted website time or voice mail time - she repeated it was noon. Since we definitely felt like we weren't wanted we left. Wish I had read these reviews first - it seems like things have not improved in the last seven years. Was also interesting that the next day website and phone had noon-5pm for their hours.

This winery is somewhat remote from Watertown but we were coming from Henderson Harbor and saw the signs and decided to stop in. There were 8 of us and half of us were wine enthusiasts but considering we got to taste 7 wines and keep the glass for $5, we gave it a whirl. The gal that we converged on was great and over the course of our visit, we got great detail about the wines we were trying and had great conversations with her about the history of the winery and the surrounding area. If you are curious and want to visit a friendly winery, this is a nice place to stop. If you are a serious wine snob, maybe not so much the place for you. We enjoyed the visit!!

Can't miss the place and appropriately named. However, the tasting room needs to be updated and cleared of what appeared to be overpriced garage sale items. There are also little "bumps" or hills in the floor. If there are elderly people in your party, be sure to have them watch their step or they could find themselves doing a face plant.
Found the man friendly but the woman was very stoic and I couldn't read her.
If you like sweet wines( I don't) then this is the place. The limited dry wines weren't to my liking at all.
Make the place more appealing and inviting, then maybe I'd come back a second time. Maybe.

Out visit to yellow barn winery was good. No no negatives what so ever. Tasted 7 wines, which included the glass to keep. Very rustic setting in an original barn. The gal doing the wine pouring was friendly and knowledgeable, as she is the owner of this family run farm.

I have to say that my husband and I travel all over the U.S and go to different wineries. I was not impressed at all with this place for all the advertising they do. They had I believe 6 or 7 wines to taste and that is all they offer. The place it self was nothing to talk about and the person that assisted us was not that pleasant. There are many other wineries in the area which I would go to first.

Stopped by yellow barn winery on our way up to thousand islands.
Had never been so wanted to check it out.
I wouldn't say it was a waste of time but won't go back due to the woman behind the counter acted slightly annoyed to have to stop and give us a tasting.
We were given a preselected flight of 7 wines to try.
All 4 of us told her we didn't like dry wines which seemed to annoy her farther.
We gave in and tried them bcuz she wouldn't let us try anything beyond the preselected ones.
Wine is very personal from person to person so I won't say all of them were awful.
We all purchased the eventide from the tasting.
3 out of 4 of us purchased the peach based on the servers description and recommendation.
We opened only 1 bottle and all 4 of us thought it tasted like vinegar with no peach taste whatsoever.
When all 4 people say the same thing then it's not just the taste of one deciding.
I also purchased the Shelby and am regretting it. Haven't tried it and prob won't for some time.
If the winery would have been open on my way back from thousand islands we would have stopped and asked for our money back on the peach.
As said at the beginning, it's not all horrible but do not buy without trying.
The server never offered to open a bottle for us to try so that should have been a clue that it wasn't good.

Tasting consisted of seven wines for $5.00 and you get to keep the souvenir glass. Not a bad deal eh? It gets a little strange though since there are only oyster crackers for between selections and the glass was not rinsed out. Our hostess had a bit of an odd personality but we got her talking and she loosened up a little. Wine is a personal endeavor so I'll not judge for you. We purchased a bottle of the unique Peach wine for deserts or spritzers. Gift shop is not a destination place, but offers a few interesting items of local flavor. Not on our list of top wineries but it was nearby and we decided to check it out. I do not recommend going out of your way for this one.

This was perhaps the most bizarre winery experience I've ever had. The interior has a very small tasting bar, attended by one person in a hoodie sweatshirt and jeans, who did not seem to want to be there at all. Now for the rest of the 'barn'. It had several rooms filled with the most weird selection of stuff.....a stuffed cat for $100.00. The person working there said it cost that much because it felt just like a real cat (with rigor mortis?). Old Barbie Dolls, a collection of ceramic Native American heads (most very beat up looking), the list goes on and on, but my description can't do it justice. It felt like being in someone's basement that had not ever been cleaned out. With big fat price stickers on each item. Just the weirdest collection of stuff, in an even weirder setting.
Now as for the wine itself. We all did a full tasting. We were each given a cheap paper napkin, and instructed to wipe out our glass after each pour to clean out the glass. Yes, put your napkin inside of the glass, and wipe it out. After 3 tastes, the napkins were pretty messed up, and I stopped using mine. We were also given a plastic tray with a few crackers (evidently the end of the day......about 1/4 of the tray was full, with lots of crumbs.....Yum!). So we were instructed to drink, wipe and then eat a cracker. The stingiest of pours, which turned out to be a blessing, because the wine was so bad. Seriously. Bad. The dry wines tasted like vinegar. The sweet ones, had no flavor except for sugar. The description of our server for the sweet wine was 'candy in a bottle'. Yup, pretty much summed that wine up.
So, imagine that you are at a tasting where you can't even looked at the people you came with, because you will most likely burst into laughter, and that was the experience we had.
Worst ever winery.

Wasn't all that impressed initially. Looked like someone was selling a few bottles of wine along with an attic/cellar full of yard sale items. Wine is decent, souvenir glasses are nice. One stop was enough unless they get a head of steam and turn this barn into a true wine experience.

A diamond in the rough......great little winery with some awesome wine. If in the area, stop by. Wine for everyone and plenty of quirky items to look at.
