Amazing snorkeling!

The snorkeling at this location is wonderful. Kona Boys are very organized, professional and informative. The trip was very well done. I have done this trip before and recommend Kona Boys!

WE LOVED THE ENTIRE EXPERIENCE AND LOVE THE COMPANY AND HOW THEY TAKE CARE OF THE ISLAND. TRUE ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION. WE LOVED EVERYBODY WE WORKED WITH...JEREMY, RAY, BAM, FRANK (CEO)! THEY ALL GAVE US EXCELLENT SERVICE AND WE ADMIRE THE RISKS THEY TOOK TO DO 'THE RIGHT STUFF' FOR RUNNING THIS AWESOME BUSINESS!

Fun, relaxing, and educational!
We did the kayak with snorkeling trip, and Bamm was fantastic! Super knowledgeable, patient, friendly, and managed to get us all into and out of our kayaks, together, and gave a history lesson. He clearly enjoys his job, and it was cool learning how Kona Boys works with the state on caring for the environment. We kayaked across the bay and had plenty of time to snorkel, swim, or just relax. He even had snacks! Dried star fruit is delish.
Would 100% do this one again, and would ask for Bamm too.

Add a Kona Boys trip to your vacation! Their tours are good stuff!
This was our fifth trip with Kona Boys; we’re never disappointed! Bamm and Evan took great care of us and did all the heavy lifting, which is one of the reasons we like this adventure. In addition to taking care of the logistics and getting us safely in/out of the kayaks, these guys taught the group so much about the history and geology of the area. They clearly enjoy their work and take pride in the restoration work they’re involved in to help the coral reef. This isn’t just a tour company, they’re doing all the right things to give back to the area. We’ll see you again next year Kona Boys! Thanks for being a regular part of our vacation.

Amazing Saturday morning wa'a experience!

Spent Saturday morning doing an outrigger canoe ride (wa'a) with Keahi! I wasn't sure what to expect but Keahi was an awesome teacher guiding us through the ride and was an incredible storyteller too. It was such a great way to be out in the water learning about the history of Hawaii. I would absolutely do it again, highly recommend it!

Logistics- you can park at the King Kamehameha Hotel and get 1- hour parking validation from Kona Boys (or park elsewhere downtown), the Kona Boys shack is by the beach that's connected to the hotel, wear something you are ok getting wet in, they have a safe for valuables, you will help paddle and it's super fun!

Fantastic snorkeling, excellent guides… and we even saw dolphins!

An all-around amazing experience. The snorkeling is not to be beat, the dolphins put on a show during our kayak, and Evan and Steve (our guides) added to the experience with their expertise and knowledge of the history and environment. Of all the truly memorable experiences during my trip, this was my favorite. Definitely recommend.

An amazing experience with great guides

We did the ‘Morning Magic Kealakekua Bay Kayak & Snorkel Tour’. Our day started off with instructions from a friendly staff at the store. We needed reef safe sunscreen, waterproof phone covers, and straps for our sunglasses - and luckily all of these were available at the store. On the tour, Steve and Bamm were our guides. They make an awesome team. They were laser focused task masters when it was time to board and dismount off the kayaks and get in and out of the water during snorkeling. We felt safe in their hands. The lunch they provided was hearty and delicious. When we were having lunch, Bamm narrated the history of Cook monument and the current efforts to restore the reef. Upon hearing firsthand about their involvement in the reef restoration, we were able to see how dedicated they were with preserving Kealakekua Bay, beyond their work as kayak guides. Many thanks to Kona boys, Steve and Bamm for making it a memorable, safe trip.

Book with Bamm, he’s amazing!

We actually didn’t book a tour, but rather went separately with our family to hike/snorkel Captain Cook. However, my dad stepped on a sea urchin and got very hurt. Bamm was on a tour and saw that he was extremely injured. He rushed to get his first aid care and helped my dad. He even offered to give my dad a ride back (in his kayak) to shore if he couldn’t hike back up the hill. His kindness didn’t go unnoticed and we still talk about Bamm to this day! Kona boys are awesome!!!!

Great outrigger canoe experience!

We did the outrigger canoe experience yesterday and it was amazing. Grant had the ideal mix of guide and teacher. He taught us about the ocean life and local history and how to row an outrigger. He rows an outrigger at least 5 days a week every morning before work.
