Great evening with laughter, fire, good food, dancing and some sentimentality. Chief and performers were very engaging with the audience. Thanks for a fun evening!

My family decided to go to the Fia Fia Luau and we had so much fun. The food was amazing for luau food. There was also a part where everyone was invited to go up and dance which was so fun. Even though people could see it for free they would not have as much fun as everyone there.

Show was amazing as was the setting. Food was mediocre as were the drinks. Not really fair that people could watch for free from their balconies or restaurant.

If you are going to attend a tourist luau on Oahu, then you should go to the Tuesday night "Fia Fia Luau" presented at the Marriott Ko Olina resort and hosted by Chief Sielu Avea. You have to call the Marriott Ko Olina directly to order tickets ahead of time.
We have attended Fia Fia many times at the Marriott Ko Olina and think the buffet luau is great, the Polynesian show is top notch, the outdoor oceanfront setting is beautiful and the small and intimate size of the crowd means the sight-lines for the show are way better than other luau venues for the same money.
Our wait staff could have been a bit better serving drinks during the pre-luau activities, but the freshness and variety of the buffet and the production dances of the luau made up for this small critique. There are no bad views at the Fia Fia luau due to it's smaller size and table layout.
A similar show is presented at his "Chiefs Luau" other evenings at the Wet & Wild Waterpark in Kapolei, but we think the food offering is better at Fia Fia.
Of course the headliner himself is what you go to see: the famous and very funny Chief Sielu Avea himself, a longtime mainstay from the Polynesian Cultural Center and now entertainer of his own luau production.
Yes you can go to the Paradise Cove or Disney Aulani Ka Wa'a luaus on Oahu's leeward (west) side, but they can't offer the up close and personal one on one experience of a living Oahu legend like Chief Sielu. We had a great time and would highly recommend.

What a waste of money! The dinner wasn’t worth the price at all. The food was of really bad quality, too dry, and with very limited options. There was only one type of dessert available. The show was okay, but all we could see were people’s heads. Hotel guests who didn’t pay for the show and were watching from their balconies or around the stage had a much better view. We couldn’t even hear the sound properly. Overall, we’ve had much better experiences watching these kinds of shows elsewhere during our previous trips.

Food was terrible. Way overpriced for what we got especially since the show was on the center lawn right in the middle of the property. So we could have sat anywhere and watched the show. The show was good, MC awesome, fire amazing. But we could barely see in General seating (seriously, the people sitting at the restaurant or anywhere in the resort had a better view than us). In general seating you get 1 drink ticket and the drinks were just ok. My suggestion is to go next door to Aulani where the price is the same but you get an open bar and way better views. Or… make reservations at the restaurant on the Marriott property, eat waaaaay better food and watch the show from there.

We love luaus and have been to many. We were excited to aytend this one and splurged for the nicer ticket packagem The performances and MCing was quite good and the fire dances were amazing, but this luau had some serious flaws compared to others we had attended. The music was so loud during dinner you could not hear the person next to you. First, the food was really subpar. The kalua pork was good, but quite cold, but after that, we were very disappointed. The mahi mahi was extremely dry and fishy, like it had been cooked (to death) from frozen. There was no fresh fruit. The teriyaki was described as "prime rib teriyaki" bit there is no way that those thin cut of dry overcooked beef was ribeye, much less prime rib, and the teriyaki sauce tasted like off-brand bottled corn syrup. The hulu hulu chicken was okay. The rolls were old and clearly from a bag. The drinks were watery, limited in choice, and with really cheap liquor. The food service was not better: they would not clear plates and there was nowhere to bus them. We paid extra for two drink coupons but most of us only got one because the servers were so sporadic that we couldn't get our orders in. We also felt like there was a constant money grab: asking you to buy crafts, charging $30 for a photo, etc. Not super classy, and we had already spent over a $1000 for the tickets. The dessert was also a disappointment.

Chief Sielu is by far the most entertaining, informative, and captivating luau host one could ask for. Our family learned more about the beautiful culture, history, and tradition of the native Hawaii people in just a couple of hours than the rest of our stay in O'ahu. When he talks of his upbringing and remembrance of his family, you can tell he is passionate and honest. He entertains, educates, and enlightens everyone who is in his audience. I wish you many more years, good Chief, and thank you for memories that will last for the rest of my families lives.

Do not miss Chief Avea, world champion fire dancer who's still got it, and his talented crew. We had a great time and the food was very good. Where else do you get the opportunity to make fire a la Survivor before a great show and dance to the Hawaiian Wedding Song with your sweetheart as your kids roll their eyes and try not to smile?
If you can't laugh, be impressed and enjoy this show, I don't know what else the world has for you. It's great fun.

We just got back from Oahu and had the best time at this luau. The food was delicious. You get an introduction to the Polynesian culture and great hula demonstrations. We loved the chief's dry humor. The fire show at the end was spectacular. The setting was beautiful with an amazing sunset. We researched a lot of this type of show and we were glad we chose this one.

How do you book this other than calling? The website has no description and no further information

Was it worth the price and would 6 mid age visitors from Perth, AU like it?
Escrita el 9 de abril de 2018
I think so. It is more "real" and less "showbiz" that other Luaus on the island. A better fit for adults than kids
Escrita el 23 de julio de 2018
Is the fee the same for guests of the resort? And is there a charge for children?
Escrita el 6 de abril de 2018
yes, the show is independent of the resort, so there is no discount. I believe a fee is also charged fir children, but it depends on the child's age. The resort can sort this for you

Is there a certain day of the week that this show runs? Wondering if it'll be on for Easter Sunday this year.
Escrita el 13 de enero de 2018
Fia Fia is Tuesdays only. Apparently same group performs now at Wet’n Wild 5 nights a week so you can catch them there. Wed. To Fri. Sun & Mon. Used to be at Sea Life Park.

Fia Fia at Marrtiott Ko Olina - is the pig cooked in an Imu. I really want to attend a traditional luau when visiting Hawaii.

Can I find the prices for the different packages other than phoning the resort? Also, is there parking on site as we would be driving ourselves to the luau?
Escrita el 4 de febrero de 2017
I don't know the answer but I can tell you if you call and speak to Hiromi at the concierge desk at the Marriott she will have all the answers to your questions and was EXTREMELY polite and helpful when I called. 808-679-4728

I don't know about the prices..... my dad is friends with on of the hotel representatives but I am ALMOST confident that there is parking because it is at a hotel but I'm not sure we were staying at the hotel. Sorry for not being super helpful.....
