The most FUN corporate outing we have had! Jerrod Perry, Director of Recreational Classes was so knowledgeable and helpful in planning, coordinating our private cooking classes/choosing our menu etc. Super nice guy. Our group arrived for our private cooking class. We chose their fall seasonal menu and added on charcuterie/cheese boards. The fall menu was really lovely and everything complimented each other very well. They allowed us to bring our own wine. We reserved 2 kitchens with 2 chefs. Both of our chef's, Burke and Anthony were just excellent. They both know what they were doing, clear on instructions2, funny and were really good at multi-tasking. They were able to ensure everyone was doing what they needed to do and staying on top of us and making sure our cooking was going smoothly and correctly. We had a couple of vegetarians in our group and the chefs were really accommodating. They were also super mindful and sensitive of people's allergies. I was happy to see the kitchen was clean, organized and properly sanitized. The experience was so great for group. I found myself making a recipe with a colleague that I hadn't caught up with in some time. This is a great experience for strengthening bonds with your colleagues. We got so many cute pictures and video of our group in the kitchen. Not able to share the group photos out of privacy for our group but highly recommend the experience at Cambridge School of Culinary Art!!!

We signed up for this class on my birthday and it was a phenomenal way to spend four hours of the day! We did the Pasta Workshop - Hand Rolled class on a Sunday morning at 9:00 AM and signed-up for it about 35 days prior when there were only 4 slots left. I would be timely with signing-up for classes ahead of time by a few weeks frankly, as these classes sell out quick!
Upon arrival, they asked what class we were in and would walk us to the proper area (as there were 3 classes going on at once in the different parts of the school). The CSCA provides you a very easy to read instruction guide for the day in terms of how to create your pasta dough, how to make various shapes, and how to create a sauce (that you get to take home as well for future use). Our instructor was amazing and provided a lot of great anecdotes regarding his experience cooking and provided footnotes for optimization of cooking recipes.
The cost of the class was well worth it as you got to use a professional kitchen, eat a full meal, and have 2 servings leftover for home. Of note, we probably needed closer to 4.5 hrs to truly finish cooking as there were some steps that could be optimized, but overall everyone else finished cooking prior to us so we might've just been a little slow. The class had 12 students total and didn't feel overcrowded at the desks where we learned and chose what pastas/sauces we wanted to make, neither did it feel crowded at the preparation tables as we made our pasta dough/shape.
The first hour was essentially a walk through of the CSCA pasta instruction guide. Would HIGHLY recommend bringing a pen or pencil to write notes on the instruction guide, as the chef gave out great tips for us to do this at home, but we didn't have anything to write down the information with. After that, we made our pasta doughs in the kitchen and set them to sit for a bit. Then we went back into the classroom area and decided as a class what pasta shapes & sauces we wanted to make; the chef highly encouraged we try to make different sauces as we would get to try everyone's pastas at the end. There was a wonderful variety of sauces we could make, including vegetarian/vegan, meat, seafood, and cheese ones. Once we all chose as a class what each of us would be making, we got to work on beginning to make our sauces & pasta shapes for the next 3 hours.
The chef was attentive to each of us, providing real-time feedback to us individually as well as tips for the larger group. You certainly need to not be afraid to ask questions on your food, on where something in the kitchen is or how something in the kitchen works, not just to the chef but to the people in your class as well. The chef does a great time keeping you true to the time limits you have left and steps in to help where people needed it.
After we finished cooking, we were told to put all of our cooking utensils/pots/pans/cutting boards in the sink for CSCA to clean, allowing us to go enjoy our food in the classroom with everyone. They provided lots of to-go containers for everyone as well to put leftovers in (which there were plenty of).
Tips I would say for the class would be that you should show up at least 15 minutes ahead of time, absolutely wear closed toe shoes & clothes that you wouldn't be devastated about getting stained, be sure to bring a pencil/pen, and maybe a bag to potentially carry your leftovers in after you leave. Most people in the class came with someone else they knew, but there were two people who came by themselves. There were both newcomers as well as people who had taken prior classes.
Great insight that the chef told us was that if you have a larger group of people you'd like to take the class with, he said you can email the school and inquire about scheduling a private cooking class session for your group and you even get to choose what cuisine you'd be looking to cook. They also have night classes that included wine if you're looking for that sort of a cooking class!
Overall, it was a semi-challenging for my cooking levels but a fantastic experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Took their Techniques of Cooking I weekly class and highly recommend it - we learned how to cook eggs, soups, roast, grill, saute, braise, stew, poach, and make sauces. And then we had a fabulous lunch! Highly recommend.

Not all teachers are equally good. I wish there was a way to know who is teaching a class before signing up.

I just took my third class at this school and once again felt like I got alot of bang for my buck. Anthony the Chef/Instructor was friendly, very attentive to all the students and ran a very organized and fun class. The kitchen was spotless, the knives were sharp and the recipes (for boning chicken) were yummy. I look forward to taking more classes there. One hint: the metered parking is by parking app only but about 2 blocks down is a large free parking lot at a CVS/Panera shopping area.

All I can not talk about the class, I could not do it. in January I sign for the a February class, February comes and I had a conflict with my work schedule, end up missing one class, I called then prior to second class requesting to change class other date and Julie the admission office said that I could not do it, and she wants to give a credit for future class... But I never took the class or I am not canceling the class. I just want to take the class on another day! I explain to her the fact that she can not accommodate that is fine however she raise the voice because I did not want the credit and hang up on me. that shows that for the school we are doing them a favor to be there.. very bad!!! If you want to take the class do it via online admission, if you go via our friend there.. you may have the same experience! Good luck, unfortunately, I move on to the people that really want to serve because in the restaurant industry is about service not to attitude!

So much fun to make pasta and great sauces with friends. If you haven’t made pasta before you should try this place. We went with two other couples and had a great time. We were lucky and found parking right in front of the building. We started at 6pm and didn’t eat until after 9 so plan ahead.

After attending a class and having a great time, I decided to setup a private event for my friends and family. In fact, the first event went so well, I setup another. Each interaction I have had with the team at the school has been great. From the selection of classes to the designing of menus for the private events, everyone was happy to help. Once on site, the team had everything under control. The events are different than others I have been to in the past at restaurants. You will actually do some of the work, learn from the chef, and laugh along the way. In the end, the instructors always make sure you reach the end with great food to enjoy (even if you make mistakes along the way).
I haven't done one, but think this would also be great for a corporate outing. Whether you take a class or plan your own event, I think you'll have a great time.
Pro tip: bring an extra container to take home some of your leftovers.

Having always been a foodie and someone who loves to cook, I was introduced to CSCA by a friend who had taken a Techniques series and raved about it...so I signed up for the 6-week Techniques I class and couldn't have been more thrilled by each class and what I had learned.
Chef Sharon was very informative and fun to spend time with each week, being hands-on as needed (often helping those who needed a little extra help understanding or refining skills), yet allowing you to dive in deep to practice and refine your skills (I assumed going into the class that it might be more of a demonstration class where you only get to try things yourself a little, but was pleasantly surprised to learn how I was chopping and cooking the entire class). The energy of the class and the spirit of my classmates was always high as we prepared dozens of recipes - and walked home with the knowledge of how they should look, taste, the fundamental recipes, as well as the full recipes to continue to cook/bake at home. The classroom/kitchen has everything you need to prepare your recipes well organized so that by the second class, I knew where to find everything - plus the knives are sharp and safety is always a top priority.
I enjoyed the 6-week techniques series so much that my husband and I did a couples cooking class just a few weeks later. He enjoyed that class immensely and understood why I would come home from my previous classes feeling motivated, confident, and happy. In our Spring Flavors Couples Class we learned how to make homemade gnocchi and pickled vegetables for a spring salad as well as enjoyed flavorful risotto, herb-roasted rack of lamb, and so much more. We left feeling great, full, and ready to make some of the recipes a few weeks later with friends...and they LOVED them!
I couldn't be more pleased with the chefs, recipes, and class quality (ease of learning, atmosphere, and preparation) that CSCA has to offer. I highly recommend it to anyone who's looking for more than just a quick food demonstration (Williams-Sonoma or Sur la Table) and enjoys watching cooking shows and experimenting with recipes. Whether you're a beginner or aspiring "chef at heart," you will not regret taking any class at CSCA.
