My husband and I went to see Ballet Hispanico here on a rainy October night. We had seen them before at Northrup Auditorium in Minneapolis; we were so impressed my husband surprised me with main floor tickets near the stage.

Ballet Hispanico is based in New York City as not only a traveling ballet troupe, but also as a School of Dance. They are impressive! We have seen them three times now and they do not disappoint. Some of their numbers are very serious and emotional, others are humorous. This was another excellent performance!

We were Supporting Members at The Rialto during this season and went to many performances. The Rialto is a very nice concert venue with good acoustics and comfortable seating. The seats are wider than what you will find at Cobb Energy Center or Symphony Hall and more supported. The venue is very clean and parking is a short walk away, although on a rainy night it seems a long way!

Overall we were very impressed with this venue across the many concerts we went to here. Make sure you attend the Rialto Series events because there have been other event(s) during the holidays that are not the same quality.

If you have the opportunity to catch a show at the Rialto, do it! The Georgia State Jazz Band is quite good and they play with some outstanding vocal and instrument celebrities.

My husband and I went to see Joey Alexander here. He was amazing! So hard to believe so much talent is in such a young man.

We were season ticket holders and were very pleased that we were able to get good seats to see him. Very glad he was booked too!

My husband and I attended the holiday concert and were extremely impressed. The students put on an amazing show. There was singing, dancing, music from the orchestra and at the end they had cookies, hot chocolate and coffee for all of the guests. Parking was very easy too. We are so happy we found this event and hope to attend it again next year.

My husband and I went to “Ailey II: The Next Generation of Dance” last night at the Rialto. He surprised me with excellent seats: front row, almost perfect center in front of the stage. Although we were ticketed to Row D, Rows A through C were removed (probably for a pit orchestra on another production). SO, front row seats to see the AMAZING Ailey II!

Ailey II is athletic and innovative. Their choice of music is excellent as well as provocative. At the first intermission, we located the music from the production on Spotify and saved it to our playlists. It was THAT GOOD! The dancers... the dancers are better athletes than 90% (or more) of ANYONE you see in professional sports. And I mean that quite seriously as I am a huge fan of certain World Cup skiers.

The choreography was innovative and mesmerizing. I have seen this troupe do many creative lifts and holds that I have never seen before. The footwork is intricate and the solos incredible. A joy to watch, especially from close up.

The costumes helped to convey emotions in coordination with the music. I was particularly in love with the costumes from the first piece “Psukhe.” I wish I could post a photo of the vibrant red costumes but photography during the performance is not allowed. I did take photos of the company on their end curtain calls though.

The Rialto is a good venue for modern dance. It is neither too large nor too small, and is kept quite clean. There are numerous ushers at all entrances and at the tops of stairs in the theater to seat you swiftly. The one thing that would be nice would be a cash bar at least with a red wine and a white wine for the intermissions, but that might be more trouble than it is worth since the intermissions for dance are relatively short. Also there used to be a Subscriber’s Lounge downstairs with red and white wine and appetizers. That was very nice for pre-concert discussions with the administration personnel. All in all, it is a very pleasant and friendly environment at the Rialto.

There is also free parking in a nearby ramp, free with validation at a desk inside the Rialto front doors. It fills quickly and can take a long time to get out of, unless you know the tips and tricks.

Strongly recommend that you buy your tickets before the Season starts!

This was an absolutely magical concert! I am SO glad that Georgia State was able to book in Anoushka Shankar. Previously I had only heard recordings of her solo work with Karsh Kale, and of course, a duet with half-sister Norah Jones that got airplay on some alternative stations.

Not a person stirred during this concert. The Rialto has strict no photography/no recording during the concert rules, and for the most part, the audience complied.

Anoushka Shankar is considered a Modern Sitar Master. Her father was Ravi Shankar, who collaborated with, among others, George Harrison of the Beatles. Ravi had a lot of influence on popular music of the 60s and 70s, and now his daughter Anoushka produces almost mystical concerts. I don't know where else we would have seen her but at The Rialto.

I was here to support and enjoy the production being put on by the Youth Ensemble of Atlanta. It was phenomenal production. The singing, dancing and acting was very rich . There was a plethora of ages in the group and the dynamics were greatly appreciated by all who witnessed.

We had heard that this dance company was fantastic but we weren't prepared for how good they really were. Watching the performance, you held your breath.

Ailey II was a great choice by Rialto for a performance. It helps position The Rialto as a premier venue in Atlanta.

We went to see the Celtic Christmas performance and were blown away by the quality of the show.
Ten out of ten.
We went last year as well and it is getting better all the time .
Highly recommended theatre with great offerings and plenty free parking for patrons.
