[The Spanish version is a Word translation – apologies.] How often have your read “paradise found”? Too often, no doubt. Well, among the lies there is this place – a true paradise! I don’t “do” reviews, facebook and other social media. I joined facebook so that I could leave a review and share with others this wonderful place. The lodge bills itself as three stars. I guess that is the facilities. They are very nice – okay – only three stars there. Everything else is five stars. The people are ... so welcoming and helpful you never think of them as “staff”. The lodge has its own drivers and guides. I have been on many private guided tours over the decades, but the trip to Rincon de la Vieja has topped them all, not because of the sights but because of the guide. I threw myself in the hands of the chef wanting local dishes not burgers. Each meal was a delight! Somehow simple yet with complex aromas and flavours. As a foodie, you will not be disappointed if you let the people doing the cooking do their thing. The location is idyllic. There are great trails out the back door and any other activities you might want. If you need your phone (or sometimes even the internet) 24/7, then you will be frustrated. But if you are here, you will be glad your phone doesn’t work! THIS IS ADDED AND NOT IN THE SPANISH VERSION. They did not ask about vaccination, but they check everyone's temperature. ¿Con qué frecuencia has leído "paraíso encontrado"? No "hago" reseñas, facebook y otras redes sociales.
