I am a guy who worked his way up the tree with limited education, so call me a value traveller, with a thirst to see as many cultures and curiosities (particularly in Australia). My wife is a photographer, so we seek out the unusual and like to ferret around the backstreets of wherever we are. We love animals, so whenever we can we get close to the animals such as monkeys in Bali, Komodo Dragons in Indonesia, iguanas and giant tortoises in Galapagos, and elephants or tigers in Thailand, pandas etc Before retirement, my job earned regular frequent traveller miles/points so wherever possible we travel on points. Accommodation is middle class, never 5 star.
