Windsong #2 is an extremely well appointed, clean and tastefully decorated condo. We traveled with my Sister, Brother In Law and 1.5 year old nephew. The condo owner and manager Julie met us upon arrival, she directed us to park our rental van in the secure gated driveway. Windsong is a bright,clean complex with four units. One owner occupied unit and the others are rentals. The grounds are nicely landscaped and the trees and bushes teem with iguana. Coconut palms offer high sanctuary for small lizards and iguanas from the neighbor cats who hunt when they are not purring about looking for a friendly scratch.
Julie seems to have thought of everything you may need while vacationing on Grand Cayman. The kitchen has just about everything you need and it is nice stuff, not the usual dented mismatched worn out things we frequently find in rentals.
Furniture is comfortable and functional, my partner and brother in law could not stop talking about the comfort of the bed linens! There is television with basic cable, we enjoyed the music channels and tourist information otherwise we did not check the TV's out. WiFi is provided and there was no issue.
Bathrooms are large and clean. The master bath has a large walk in shower and two sinks. All four of us showered pretty much at the same time and never had a problem running out of hot water, which was great.
Windsong has a beautiful built in pool with tables, chairs and loungers. The pool is enclosed with a nice white vinyl fence, a foot wash at the entrance and shower inside. It is a beautiful and peaceful pool area, despite the fact that part of the fence enclosure has been removed and replaced with plywood due to new development behind Windsong. We spent plenty of time out by the pool and did not notice the plywood until we reviewed our photos. It is a beautiful clean pool that could be enjoyed daily. Windsong provides a gas Weber grill and grilling tools. A grocery store is really around the corner and a local fish shack is within walking distance.
The beach is across the street and you hear the waves from the front porch. Boggy Sand beach is as advertised the best! Windsong has coolers, beach chairs, umbrellas, sand castle toys, kayaks and a paddle board for guest use. The coolers, chairs and umbrellas appear to be left from other guests so take a careful look. One umbrella and two chairs are not in good shape. (Note: these are the only shabby items found at Windsong, and since they are optional items kindly shared with us, no complaint). As stated the beach is beautiful, however people actually own the nearest beach access and have obnoxiously triple gated it. Windsong is able to provide one set of beach gate keys per unit. We found this to be our biggest complaint as it is difficult to cart everything to and from the beach-add three gates each with its own keyed lock, its a bit of a hassle. Julie has made the best of that situation for her guests and overall coming back to Windsong after a great beach day almost erases the hassle.
Windsong gets five stars from this picky reviewer, Julie is on site but has mastered not being there, while being there. She had taken extra care to obtain a crib and high chair for us and that was very much appreciated.
