I booked the apartment as a last minute holiday for my wife and I. Glad we did. The booking process and contact with the owner was flawless.David the owner answers very quickly if you email him. The apartment itself is modern and immaculate and is perfectly positioned within the block of 2 on the 1st floor. With the office of the resort underneath. Not far to go for the keys or any issues. Not that we had any. It is within a huge private golf complex called the Hacienda Golf Resort, called the Spanish village, which was built just as the recession hit Spain and is very very quiet, so suited us as we went for exactly that reason. In parts away from the apartment it actually looks totally uninhabited where the holiday homes are, but there were more and more people arriving daily from the area with the villas. The resort is very well maintained in the areas where there are people. The apartment has Air conditioning in all rooms, in August a must at 34 degrees each day. It's fully equipped with all home comforts. Fully opening doors do allow a nice breeze thro the appartment also if you don't mind flies and the countryside smells now and again, we didn't mind and it's not as bad as the other review states, in fact no where near it, there is Wifi. There is a TV, we didn't use it though, a double room and twin room with ample space and 2 bathrooms, one with a shower only and one with a whirlpool bath and shower although we didn't use it. All good things. We flew into Alicante airport and drive the hour and a bit to the resort. Although San Javier airport(Murcia) is much closer. No where near Murcia btw. About 40 minute drive west. The road networks in the area are excellent and well sign posted, A car is a necessity as there is no shop in the resort. A short drive into the local town, Fuente Alamo. Has a mercadona supermarket and has every thing you would need. And is reasonable in price too. There is a beach at los Alcazares which we went to a few times, about 7 euros for 2 loungers for the day, and is about 25 minutes drive, a beach at sanpedro where we did the mud bath thing, a must if you are up for a free treatment, and plenty of retail shopping outlets if that's your thing near by, a must visit is the city of Cartagena which is very beautiful and has a great atmosphere at night. Lots of great places to eat and walk about as the Sun goes down, It's about 30 minutes south. The whole area is mainly Spanish speaking only as its slightly away from the coast so best learn some basics. Or download google translator. Parking is always tricky on the streets so use the underground parking always as its secure and keeps the car cool. We enjoyed our time at the apartment and would highly recommend it to anyone considering a quiet break. Book a car in advance and take out the insurance waiver in advance too. Will save you in the end.
