This is a new apartment that has all the comforts of home! It is located slightly northwest of the main area of Alajuela and within walking distance of several restaurants and a very nice grocery store that accepts US currency. It's only about 5 miles (8 minutes) from the airport, so it's a great place to spend your arrival or departure night. Taxis are readily available by either calling or walking a short distance into town. It also has a gated parking lot. We were in Apartment 6 (top right) and used it for 9 nights as a central location for visiting some Ticos and several tourist attractions (Poas Volcano, la Paz Waterfall and Gardens, Doka Coffee Plantation, and white water rafting on the Pacuare River). Maria Vanesa is a very gracious host and speaks fluent Spanish and English. Hellen, her assistant, understands and speaks some English, while the grounds keeper, Domingo (who lives on site) speaks only Spanish. However, they are eager to assist in any way possible. If you're traveling to the Alajuela/San Jose area and need a place to stay, I recommend this apartment.
