The pond is beautiful. My son didn't catch any fish, but had fun trying. We rafted at Northwoods rafting company, which was a new outfitter for us. If you like the camaraderie of the aftermath experience we recommend Northern or not doors. However, had an amazing trip one of the best ever. This cottage is spectacular and we cannot wait to come back, It's just lovely.
A few things that I didn't consider bringing we're sugar and cooking oils. I could have used both, but we did just fine with them. I highly recommend this beautiful and secluded retreat. The owner was very very responsive.

Our family of six stayed here last week in August. We had ideal weather, some summer days to swim, then some nice fall weather rolled in. We were looking for a remote, warm water, small lake (with kayaks available) and this was perfect. Well worth the 17 hour drive to get here:) Loved the loons and bald eagles and seeing only two people in the five days we were there!
Accurate listing, VERY clean and well attended. The kitchen was really well stocked for people like us who cooked in every single meal. There are lots of glowing reviews, so I won't repeat, but really pleased with it. Few things that I'd find helpful to know...you are asked not to do laundry while there (difficult for travelers for a long duration) and lots of notices about septic and water usage...wondering if system is undersized. If you have a party of "morning showerers", this could be problematic. Also , between the time we booked and arrived, the owners added a ring surveillance which is really off putting to me, wish they could turn it off when you are there, just felt "watched" whenever we were outside, which was almost all day every day. We have older kids (6 and up) but the stairs were VERY narrow..not sure how that passed code. Charming for old effect, but if my kids were toddler age, I"d be extremely nervous about them coming down during the night in the dark. I'd totally stay again, but felt as someone who puts a lot of stock in other people's experiences in reviews, wanted to add this info.

Fahi Pond Retreat is exactly that - a retreat - in a beautiful, serene location! Karen has attended to every detail and the home is cozy, very clean and well stocked! All you need to do is show up with your groceries. Our family enjoyed kayaking, fishing and relaxing on the dock listening to the loons! We will definitely be back again.

August at Fahi Pond Retreat
Karen is a very responsive and considerate host. The property is very clean and well-kept. You will enjoy the quiet and privacy. Some days the only other creatures you will share the pond with are eagles, hawks, loons, turtles, and of course a great number of fish of all types. Kayaking, swimming, fishing, sitting by the fire pit — just some of the activities that will make your stay fun and relaxing. Hoping to return to this place again.

Peaceful getaway
Beautiful little cape with lots of room. We enjoyed sitting by the pond listening to the loons call and watch the eagles fly overhead. Floating in the pond without a care but when to eat lunch or when finish our books. We loved our getaway!

The lullaby of the Loons
When we drove onto the property we were agog at the serenity, the view of the pond with the sun setting and what else? loons calling to each other! My family was really impressed and I too, it really is better in person than what the photos could ever offer. You won't be disappointed if you are looking for quiet, small town uniqueness, and a well kept and furnished abode. Enjoy!

Convenient
Close to our friends house. Pond kind of shallow and we did not go in or kayak. Bathroom tub very dark when curtains closed. Overall it suited our needs.

A Gem
This property was an absolute gem! Truly a beautiful spot for a wonderful week with family. Fahi Pond was gorgeous and quiet. The grounds and the home were impeccable. Having the use of the kayaks was also a real bonus. We only left the property once to go to church and to get ice cream. Would highly recommend.
