We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Very convenient to Cooperstown and other destinations. Scott was a welcoming host and made our stay very comfortable.

Star Field Cottage was the perfect escape! The house is much nicer and more stylish in person than the photos show, with a real fire place inside. The property is quaint with beautiful hiking trails and a fire pit and BBQ right out the back door. Cooperstown is a mere 5 minute drive away. We really appreciated the little touches Star Field offers, like toys and games for the kids and a fun array of DVDs to choose from, but what really stood out was Scott's unwavering dedication to ensuring our comfort and happiness. He was immediately responsive, always amicable and happily willing to share all his helpful tips and suggestions for the surrounding area. We'll be back!

Cute and Cozy!!
My family had a wonderful time here while in Cooperstown for baseball. Very comfortable, and private home. Quick drive to CDP for games. Scott, our host, was so welcoming. He is very responsive and is nearby, should you need any assistance. His pup, Shug, is a gentle giant, who guided my kiddos on a hike up the mountain. Shug was a great bonus to our stay! Would definitely book here again!!

Cozy cabin with hiking trails behind
Rustic cottage with modern amenities and great hiking trails behind the property. We spent a long weekend and enjoyed the convenience of being close to Cooperstown (just a few minutes by car) but in an area with open space and hiking for our dog. The screened porch was a great place to relax for coffee or cocktails. The main bedroom upstairs is like a loft and does not afford privacy from the other bedroom. Not an issue for us but that might not be clear from the description. Scott, the host, lives in the attached house and was a friendly, gracious host.

Disappointing
Cottage not in private location-sits on main road; unsafe stone steps to front door; old smelly furniture; dirty pans in cabinet; no bathroom upstairs. .

Comfortable and Relaxing
Everything was very nice and Scott (the owner) remained in touch during our stay and was very accommodating (he said we were welcome to stay later than our 10am check-out time since no other guests were expected that day). Shoog, his dog, is GINORMOUS but friendly, and came to welcome us.
Only issue I had - and this was my fault for not asking ahead of time - was the bathroom was on main floor and the bedroom was at the top of steep stairs. Since I have arthritic knees and regularly wake up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, that was a problem for me. But otherwise, everything else was fine. I especially enjoyed spending time in the screened in porch. Very peaceful (though I wish the house was farther away from the main road).

Cozy Cottage
The property was everything we hoped it would be! When we arrived, Scott's dog, Shoog, was right at the fence happily wagging his tail to greet us. Scott came outside, gave us the rundown on the property as well as the various hiking trails and made himself readily available to help with any questions we had.
Dinner in Cooperstown was fabulous each night (pay attention to Scott's recommendations, he was right on!) and the hiking trails on property led to stunning views and some fun "surprises" cleverly placed along the way. We even got to take Shoog with us!
Each night ended with drinks by a cozy fire that could not be beat! Overall, we recommend this place wholeheartedly for a quiet, comfortable, friendly stay. thank you AGAIN, Scott and Shoog!

5 Star for Starfield
Pet friendly rental, very satisfied with everything especially the stone fireplace. Our host, Scott, was very friendly and accommodating and his dog Shoog made a great hiking partner. We will be going back in the near future!
