Summary:
Of all of the places to stay in Puerto Rico, this is one of them. Descriptions on HomeAway and Flipkey are misleading. Price is too high for the level of comfort received.
Details:
Description discrepancies: Flipkey lists amenities such as Internet access, dishwasher, washing machine, fully equipped kitchen, coffee maker. There was no internet access, washing machine, or dishwasher. The coffee maker was a four cup size and the equipment in the kitchen was practically unusable due to wear and tear. We ended up buying a pot to cook with.
The Flipkey description states two bedrooms with air conditioning while the HomeAway description states “General: Air Conditioning.” This was true but the main kitchen and living area and bathroom did not have air conditioning. The only way to keep from burning up in there was to open the back door, with no screen, and let the air (and bugs) flow through.
There was only one light bulb in the entire kitchen/living area. I had to use a headlamp while cooking to see anything.
The facility is in the middle of a neighborhood. This means that you will hear the music from the bar across the street, the many roosters that start crowing at 4am, the dogs barking, and the singing neighbors. I am not complaining, I am just stating that be aware that this will be an immersion experience for sure.
Yes, there are ocean views – if you look past the abandoned boat docking facility.
Parking was good, there was a gate that could close off the parking area. Our transmitter to operate the gate didn’t work though. The location was close to the area where they start the Bio tours and several restaurants.
The narrow street in front was full of trash and there was a lot of traffic.
I would not stay there again for the price listed. I would look for a place that was within walking distance of a swimming beach next time and one that had air conditioning in the entire living area.
They have a nice deck on the back but no grill for the tenants to use.
